The head of Iran's Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) says the Islamic Republic has climbed to the fourth rank in the area of nanotechnology in the world.

Iran “ranks fourth in nanotechnology and thus lies at the top of the contemporary Islamic civilization,” the official, Mohammad Baqer Khorramshad, said on Thursday, IRNA reported.

He added that “our aim at the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization is to introduce Iran's Islamic civilization to the people of the world.”

Iran began investing efforts in the field of nanotechnology back in 2001 by launching a relevant program.

The country quickly ranked first in the production of nano-science and nano-materials in the region as well as the Muslim world in general. As many as 65 Iranian universities and scientific centers as well as 130 Iranian companies have entered the field.

According to Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC), the Islamic Republic is among the very few countries that have compiled a National Nanotechnology Plan.

The ten-year plan's priorities lie in contribution to the areas of energy, health, environment, water, materials, and construction.

"Apney munh aap mian mithoo!"

So please tell us the number of quoted peer-review scientific publications and patent annually in the field of nanotechnology originating from Iran compared to other countries?

Why take a negative approach ? If it is true then we should be happy for our brothers accomplishment. Even if not true, no point in discouraging our brothers.

Statistical Report of Production of Nanoscience in Iran

There is no nano tech in pakistan.:hitwall:

Even going by the Iranian source, Iran was #14 is 2010, and #22 for the period 1975-2010, not #4 by this measure. If you consider actual production of nanomaterials, or their applications, the rankings would be fairly similar I suspect.

However, it is encouraging to see the rate of progress, but there is a lot that sill needs to be done. Iran is on the right track on a long journey.

Imagine what iranian scientist would do if their budget was much bigger, we are already growing 11 times faster than rest of the world.

Why don't you research it yourself? we are not your slave.

I think whenever a post like this comes along there are always those that wish to knock it perhaps out of jealousy or it boosts their own ego. Bottom line is this is very encouraging for Iran and they really are on the right track. With all the objections and hinderance they have had from 3rd parties i must say Iran must be compilmented on the strides they have made. Well done Iran.

I did not figure it out, go research it.
why come here and make a stupid comment? take your BS eslewhere.

If you get into the habit of making tall claims, you are bound to be questioned. And if you come up with that attitude when questioned, then it is goes on to prove that your tall claim lacks basis, and shall be taken as a lie.

More useless hot air! :D

I don't need to research my question; I asked it to point out the fact that your claim would fall short were anyone be bothered enough to prove it false.

Iran is slave only to its own ignorance, intolerance and prejudice, nothing else.
