I'm sure they will negotiate some type of production under license or assembly in Iran. Just like what they did about T-72 back in 90s. Iran produced 422 of them under license.

This simply means that our 20 year long program has failed that has forced us to spend huge amount of money for buying Russian T90s .

When we can't build a tank , How are we supposed to build advanced fighter jets or reliable air defense systems that are way more complicated ?

Its not that we can't. It simply means our designs are not still good enough to convince the military leaders to invest money on. Let's not forget the last time we saw an advanced tank in Iran was almost 40 years ago. We don't have anything to study or even reverse engineer.

Having new T-90 will quickly close the gap between us and our friendly neighbors south of Persian Golf and will give a better understanding to our engineers what an advanced MBT should look like. I'm sure they will eventually start to change it little by little until they come up with their own design just like what they did with missiles or even cars.

Iran just having to enjoy the first generation of University graduates. The foundation is already built. You need time to catch up with technology and you cant just find them in internet and nobody will hand them over free. Iranian industrial base is far behind.

this is still less than USA and Canada national debt .... and don't forget more than half of these companies are under government , so this is like x part of government is under debt of y part of government ...

Good job, although i dont know the performance of a T-90 in the desert. The Zulfiqar program is just a waste, our Al-Zarrars are more capable, a ToT Al Khalid should be given to Iran - Iran needs help with Modernization, but sadly Pakistan's relations with KSA is restraining that.

how much money iran spent for her missile program or air defence systems in compare with a armored vehicle program? or for its nuclear program?

there is a proverb: har che ghadr pool bedi, hamoon ghadr aash mikhori.

so if you want in all fields iran makes progress like nuclear program or missile and air defence systems, we need more money,In other words, we should have a strong and progressive economy.

imagine right now you have the most advanced tank in the world, what is the point when you have not a proper and advanced airforce to support them?
so first of all we need some changes in our policy to improve our economy, then beside working on our military industry, we have to buy advance equipment and transfer new technologies.

I think, instead of buying T-90. its better to improve the old T-72s with new electronic and armor systems.
