Yes, Pipelines from UAE and Qatar as well, these are more viable than from Oman simply because they majority is traversed by land through Iran to Pakistan --- Arbis simply need to understand that they have mad a huge blunder in accepting to become pawns of the US against Iran- see Iran and US and her allies will have much better relations in the near future (this will happen, no two ways about it - Iranians do not need to live test a weapon) and the area of South and Central Asia is poised for long term economic growth - further PTI have, to a large measure changed politics in Pakistan, already, greater transparency, greater democratic governance and participation, that is to say, the possibility that a huge Muslim majority country chooses to organize her politics along democratic lines that are well understood in the West and seeks to maintain strategic relations with China, and seeks the same with Western economic powers, suggests that the hostility of the Arbis tyrannies may rebound on themselves, after all if a huge country like Pakistan, a Muslim majority country is a successful example of democratic, efficient governance, why would similar aspirations in the tyrannies of the Gulf and Arabian peninsula be denied? Why should US and Western interests continue to suffer, when their support of democracy can not just help them but Captive Muslims in those tyrannies?

Well it was India who backed out of the 3 way deal with Iran and Pakistan or have you forgot?

India backed out due to the dirty politics the US plays - it pumped crap in to India's ear.

Why did the US do that? Because it knows India needs these pipelines "desperately" and if it does get this energy source it may well be on its way of becoming another super power closely following behind China - and the US doesnt want this it wants to be the biggest Super power in the world.

If India does change its mind, and from then on other countries also wish to deal with Iran - what will the US do? Put sanctions on all these countries??!

HAHA dont make me laugh if it does do that then it is stupid as hell as it will simply kill the US economy as all those countries under sanctions will form a pact and deal with themselves - booming their own economy.

I mean look at the state of the UK - they go to India after deporting all the economy out of UK and into third world countries, only to realise the economy of the third world countries is a lot better and VERY rapidly out performed the UK's economy. Look at our PM he begged India for some financial deals and what can we offer? Some student visas in return...

Look at it this way, the US is thousands of miles away it can barely help India, Pakistan or any other Middle Eastern/Asian/Far Eastern countries. Whilst Iran on the other hand install pipeline on the ground...US does nothing but blow a load of hot air!

It is so bad in the west (developed countries - as it is called) yet meat being eaten here is from a horse and advertised as beef or sheep - talk about corruption!! Why is this ? Again to the economy we deported, this forces people to take extreme measures and deceit others to make profit which they can't otherwise due to the shattered economy!

China has offered Pakistan a USD-500-million loan to complete its joint gas pipeline project with Iran, despite threats by the United States to impose sanctions against Islamabad.


“In a major development, China has offered [the] loan,” an official at the Pakistan embassy in Iran told the Express Tribune.

The Tribune report added that the loan would be facilitated through the Gas Infrastructure Development Cess Act.

On March 11, the US Department of State threatened Islamabad with sanctions if Pakistan went through with its joint multi-billion-dollar gas pipeline project with Iran.

“We have serious concerns, if this project actually goes forward, that the Iran Sanctions Act would be triggered,” State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said. “We’ve been straight up with the Pakistanis about these concerns.”

The 1996 Iran Sanctions Act allows the US government to ban imports from any non-American company that invests more than $20 million a year in the Iranian oil and natural gas sector.

Also on March 11, Iran and Pakistan inaugurated the final construction phase of the Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline, intended to carry natural gas from Iran to its eastern neighbor.

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari attended the ceremony on the Iran-Pakistan border.

The pipeline is designed to help Pakistan overcome its growing energy needs at a time when the country of over 180 million people is grappling with serious energy shortages.

Pakistan should focus on it's new relationship with China/Turkey/Iran and Malaysia. Leave the Saudi and UAE alone, they are part of the problem not the solution.

a more feasible one would be a pipeline from under strait of hormoz toward Iran that then connect to the already active Iranian pipeline and using the same pipeline for exporting gas Toward Pakistan .

This is the last week of present government(till 16th March) so before leaving Zardari's government took a bold step defying America and next government(maybe caretaker government) will have to tackle America, not Zardari.

The IP pipeline will take two years to build, and this will give USA a whole six months at least (if not more due to construction delays) to implement its next steps regarding this project. By then we will have a new government, and likely a new IMF agreement. Things could be very different then.

I don't thinks so. This Iran-Pakistan Peace Pipeline is equivalent to Pakistan launching the nuclear program in the 1970s under Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

There's no going back for Pakistan on this. Insha'Allah, the more this Peace Pipeline progresses, the more hoshiyar Pakistan will become and it's completion will become Pakistan's single biggest priority for the next 2 years.

This is a game changer.

Again, Pakistan's total trade with the United States last year was only a measly $5.2 billion out of Pakistan's total trade of $65 billion. That's only 8%.
