ISLAMABAD : Pakistan’s Minister of State for Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal has expressed optimism for early resumption of banking ties between Islamabad and Tehran.

In an interview with IRNA, he said that he is giving extra focus on banking ties with Iran so that the two friendly neighbors can have better trade relationship.

Certainly, Iran wants to improve relations with Pakistan, and Pakistan too is interested to improve trade relations with Iran, he added.

He said that we need to develop banking relationship, in this connection very soon we should be able to have the banks on both sides to open letters of credits and do some business.

Minister said that bilateral meetings between the two countries are taking place regularly and we want to increase trade between our two countries and Iran is doing trade with many countries.

The minister said Iran’s ambassador has informed him that sanctions do not cover many types of trade between Iran and Pakistan. So we are working on this very keenly with a focus that how we can improve our trade ties with Iran.

He said that Pakistan is trying to have some private banks interested in opening branches and taking business from each other.

Banking sector in Pakistan is in private hands and there is only one government bank, Afzal said.

He said more business delegations exchange and more facilitation at the government level will enhance trade between the two countries. There is already good will in Pakistan.

He maintain that we have surplus food items and Pakistan has rice to export and textiles and Iran has petroleum products. Regional trade is always a better trade so we are trying to do within the permissible limits. Unfortunately, due to sanctions our business has gone down. It is not only Iran that has suffered but Pakistan has also suffered, so we want to solve this problem, he said.

In the year of 2016 an Iranian website which follows Iranian economic news, reported That Iran and Pakistan have signed an agreement to remove dollar as a mediator in their economic relations and contracts. The website has quoted from economic tribune website

The main source Financial Tribune says that two countries are trying to remove barriers from their economic relations including dollar.

Iran would be an economic, military and cultural power house of middle east if it did not trade common sense, progress, knowledge and liberty for state backed religious fascism!

The IranPakistan gas pipeline, also known as the Peace pipeline, or IP Gas, is an under-construction 2,775-Kilometre (1,724 mi) pipeline to deliver natural gas from Iran to Pakistan.

The history of this pipeline can be found in wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran–Pakistan_gas_pipeline

This project is almost completed in Iranian side but Pakistani side is still under construction.
Recently Iran urged decision on delayed IP pipeline, and discussed it's progress with Pakistani side.

I don't think that our problem with USA's dollar dominance which destroy s our economic relations has something to do with religion.

Two countries are sanctioned for many reasons and many years, so let's say sod off to USA and it's dollar.

Dollar can be dodged with Inter-Bank agreements among the central banks. Russia-China, Pakistan-China, Iran-Turkey, and now Iran-Pakistan gives you the example of ending dollar dominance. Where is religion lol

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa is in Tehran at the head of a delegation of ranking military officials for talks with his Iranian counterpart and other officials.

He met Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri after an official reception ceremony held in his honor on Monday.

The IRNA news agency said they stressed the need for the two neighbors "to develop defense and security relations toward solving common problems, especially recognizing and fighting grounds for the spread of terrorism on their borders."

They also laid emphasis on the need for expanding security and defense relations in the fields of industry, research and education, the report added.

Baqeri and Bajwa also touched on historical, religious, and cultural commonalities of the two countries, saying they should utilize the capacities in international and regional arenas and use their defense and political capabilities to solve regional problems as two great and powerful countries of the region without the meddling of outside powers.

Bajwa's visit is focused on enhancing the level of defense and security interaction between the two countries and discussing other issues of common interest.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif traveled to Pakistan in May and the countries agreed to increase cooperation towards boosting security in their border areas by setting up a joint security committee.

The visit at the head of a high-ranking political, military, law enforcement, and security delegation came a month after 10 Iranian border guards were killed and two others injured in an ambush near the town of Mirjaveh in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

PressTV-Iran, Pakistan discuss border security
The Iranian foreign minister is in Islamabad for talks on border security after the massacre of 10 Iranian border guards by Pakistan-based terrorists.

The so-called Jaish ul-Adl terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack, which had been launched from the Pakistani soil. The assailants escaped into the Pakistani territory immediately after the attack.

Shortly after the attack, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani wrote to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, calling for the perpetrators to be brought to justice. Former Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan also said the Islamic Republic reserved the right to give a crushing response to the terrorist crime.

A eurasian union is a personal dream of mine. All of our countries in the region have many untapped resources and oppurtunities. We can be a major area for trade just like the silk road in the olden days.

If we could remove dollar, that dream comes true. Slowly but surely our countries are moving in that direction. Just a matter of time

Iran, Pakistan and turkey already constitutes for nearly 300mill people. Their can be a very powerful economic sphere between these countries + central asia if these country can create alot of wealth and develop themselves without corruptions, thefts and honesty.

These 3 major countries i.e Iran, Turkey, Pakistan and also including Central Asia and Russia together should establish cultural, language and economic centers in each other's countries that teach common people about these subject of the said nations. And have strong student exchange programs.

We could make our own NATO and Economic cooperation agencies as well.

really Good move
we must increase our trade with neighbors.
Also our neighbors should not fool by USA to destroy their relation with Iran.
Pakistan has rice and many other goods to offer us.
Iraq and Pakistan can create boom in Iran trade.

Iran should also realise that India in fact is working against Iran by using its soil for evil actions and that India is also working together closely with Israel and MOSSAD.

We welcome this move with open hearts but the Indians seek to sabotage our brotherly relations.

India has relation with Israel so What ????? Are you going to cut your trade and relation with Turkey b/c Turkey is biggest partner of Israel in Mena ???
