ISLAMABAD: Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Hunar Dost has said Iran and Pakistan were enjoying cordial relations as both supported each other on many issues.

He said the Iranian leadership had time and again declared that Pakistan's security was that of theirs. Iran was the first country which recognized Pakistan after independence and always helped it at difficult times, he said talking to a private news channel.

The Ambassador said Iran did not prefer others in its ties with Pakistan. Both the countries had unanimity of views on several issues.

He said Iran could play a role regarding the Kashmir issue by being the middle party

Relations have nose-dived this month as Supreme Leader Ali Khamenehi listed Kashmir along with Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan as places where Muslims are brutalized by occupiers. The Indian government sent two very public signs of its displeasure. First, it summoned Iran’s senior diplomat in New Delhi to a dressing-down. Then, India abstained at the UN when a resolution criticizing Iran’s humanrights conduct came up for a vote. In the past, India has always supported Iran by voting nay on those critical resolutions. You do realize Iran's shia love Ali , and whose sons Hassan and Hussain rose up against oppression (Abuse) and you expect Iran to not support Kashmiri

Which is why in Sunny Islam we also respect them greatly

And all countries are really moving towards a common understanding of giving the people legitimate democratic vote , so they can peaceful leave India


And that is best for region that india respect the political , right of vote for the Kashmiri to decide their own fate - no more human rights violation please respect will of 57-60 countries

What's with the silly title?

Talk, however important for perception, is still cheap --- we should leverage their desire to help the oppressed into some meaningful action.

Iran and India enjoy very solid relations, and I don't think the Iranians would want to jeopardize multiple projects over a disagreement on Indian-occupied Kashmir.

BTW, has anyone wondered why Azad Kashmir is so relaxed and chilled out compared to its Indian counterpart?
