Iran Khodro Company (in Persian: ایران خودرو‎), also known as IKCO, is the leading Iranian vehicle manufacturer, with headquarters in Tehran. The company's original name was Iran National. IKCO was founded in 1962 and it produced 688,000 passenger cars in 2009. IKCO manufactures vehicles, including Peugeot, Samand, and Renault cars, and trucks, minibuses and buses.

Iran produced cars since late 1940's, first we assembled, now we manufacture them using domestic technologies (Except the products that we assemble them in Iran under license, products like Samand and Runna are Iranian cars). Also we're the world's 11th largest car producer in term of the number of cars we produce annually.
 
Western media shows a very negative view of Pakistan and Iran to their people.

i am very proud of Iran's car industry. However for the future we should try and innovate more, instead of just modifying other nation's cars. If we accomplish that I think the potentials for our car industry are endless.
