I think Iran can use their wealth in India and its infrastructure project which will be win win for both nations...Iran has to get engaged with us in multiple way starting with eductaion, cultural exchanges, University student studying in India and many more...Because in general, Indian public has a very good perception about Iran and its people as Iran is perceived as a friendly nation among rest of the Muslim nations in the world...

So we should explore this good will among the citizens to next level, then only relation can be more roboust.

Iran was part of Hindu Civilization(they were worshiper of Agni. Mithra is a Rishi who taught them, their guru) till year 13th Century, when it fell to invader arabs and converted to Islam. Iran of today, is not a secular state. It is an islamic state like Bangladesh, with no mercy for other religions to grow. Society is as dogmatic as it can be.

Infrastructure, roads, bridges, ports don't make any Islamic nation civilized. Its how they treat non-Islamic religion, that matters most.

I don't see people to people contact happening. India should focus on training own population, making them hardcore Hindus, dripped in Sanskrit. Hindus are secular people, muslims are not. That's the way to go for next 30 years. Modi is on right path.

Not in great number like it should be.by the way, I have observed a big number of Indian students in IK intl university.they are very nice and friendly, I must admit.

That's correct. There is a very vast potential for trades and cooperation between India and Iran. India is gonna need a massive amount of Oil and Gases and Iran, being just next to it can help like no one with ease.

Unfortunately Iran is not right next to India - you forgot that there is a thorn in paradise, in between the two.

If Pakistan wasn't such an unstable country with poor relations with all its neighbours and running rife with "non state actors", we could have had an oil and natural gas pipeline from Iran and met all our energy needs cheaply, and Iran would have had easy access to one of the world's biggest hydrocarbon markets. Our shipping costs would have come down dramatically, and Iran would be less bullied by sanctions or the clout of GCC.

I really hope that the underwater pipeline happens quickly.

Also on topic, I love the fact that India is best friends with Iran and Israel and the gulf countries.

That would be so Chanakyan - we launched an Israeli spy satellite a few years back, which is presumably spying on Iran. We should do the same for Iran now.
