I wont disagree with you, since there is a good chance you are correct.

But also, if we look at other countries that got into "trouble" with US recently, you notice an emerging pattern of a "joint support" for those countries from Russia + China. So it is very likely that Russia and China will support Iran, in different but probably discrete ways. And since you rightly pointed out that there is alot of oil and gas reserves, Russia or/and China will have to offer "increased support" to win Iran's energy concessions and biz in the future. Capitalism made war another business and trade. some people dont understand that in war business, losing life is just part of the business.

Iran's primary way of threatening the US and its allies in the region is its inventory of about 2,500-3,000 ballistic missiles, US Central Command (CENTCOM) commander General Kenneth McKenzie told the Senate Armed Services Committee on 10 March.

Gen McKenzie did not breakdown the types of missiles that make up this arsenal but indicated most are shorter-range weapons when he explained why the US military is moving more assets to Prince Sultan Air Base (PSAB) in central Saudi Arabia.

"The beauty of that base is it is out of [the] short-range ballistic missile range of Iran but close enough for our various types of fighter attack aircraft to operate out of there. It is well defended and provides significant additional depth in theatre," he said. PSAB is 580 km from the Iranian mainland and is now defended by at least one Patriot air defence battery.

He confirmed that the US is also moving air defence assets to Iraq, where he said the US has around 5,000 soldiers deployed, to defend against Iranian ballistic missile attacks.

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) attacked US personnel at Ain al-Asad Air Base on 8 January in retaliation for the assassination of Major General Qasem Soleimani, a high-profile IRGC commander who developed and directed pro-Iranian militant groups across the region.

While no Americans were killed and the confrontation then de-escalated, it subsequently emerged that over 100 US military personnel suffered traumatic brain injuries.

Gen McKenzie said that the US had established a "rough deterrence" with Iran since the 8 January attack, attributing this to the build-up of US forces in the region.

"There weren't many forces in theatre and the fact that the force density was so low was a major part of the Iranian calculus to act out in the kinetic sphere," he said.

It really depends on what you categorize as "Ballistic Missiles!"

If their definition of Ballistic Missiles are only BM that are launched Vertically Qiam and larger then sure!

Why? Because Iran's largest stock of missiles is actually the Fateh class and US could very well be categorizing those as "Guided Rocket Artillery" NOT Ballistic Missiles!

By the most part US simply doesn't have a clue of Iran's capabilities let alone our STOCKPILE!

Just put it into perspective for you Iran has about 38 LARGE BM Bases that the U.S. knows about and that's how they come up with those figures!
In there head they say well the MAx would be 100 per base so 3,800 and so they give out an assessment of 2500-3000 BM because at some point Iran's stock was exactly that so they think it would make them look smart! But all they are doing is guessing based on the number and size of BM bases and NOTHING more!

This is USA assessment which is generally wrong and played in a manner to build some narrative. Iran as per its own statements and years of investing missile sector holds more than 100,000 various range of ballistic missile. Even Hizbollah has 150000 missiles in its inventory.


Iran and its allies have a better plan. What you are showing is only at tactical level it failed already miserably in Iraq and Afghanistan

They are counting Ballistic Missiles only (TBMs - IRBMs). Those guys in Pentagon know much more than average joe.

Iranian ballistic missile arsenal is largest in the Islamic bloc.

Air power was unable to destroy Hezbollah's arsenal of missiles in 2006 war...Air power was unable to destroy Saddam's arsenal of missiles during Desert Storm...isn't it a lesson to you? You think Iranians are that stupid to expose their missiles to US air power?

Try to destroy Iranian missiles when they are 500m underground

There is hell of a difference between Israeli military might and American; Iraqi generals found Americans to be a far more challenging foe than Israel and admitted as much in interviews.

At present, American precision strike capabilities are top notch and vast.
