Sir please don't make any bold statement if you don't have basic knowledge of topic.
Imran was idiot. Chicken is more complex then you think. World deal in Broiler Chicken raising few Desi Chicken in home will do nothing but raise cost.
Do you even have any idea how complex chicken is
Lol... Really so can you enlighten us how it was dumb idea or things you have mentioned are not manageable.
BTW
have you ever been to a Farm in Pakistan?
Have you ever been to a village in Pakistan?
Do you know the average farm size in Pakistan?
Do you know the average land holding by a farming family in Pakistan?
Do you know how milk is purchased and sold on farm?
Do you know how eggs are purchased and sold? I mean free range eggs (desi eggs) not control shed.
If you dont know about any of the above than do not comment or call out other people.
I know more about farms that you can imagine. You can call me a paindo. Not only that I know about control sheds for chickens in fact I rejected proposal to have one of my own.
So the idea of keeping chickens or other animals is not far fetched. Few years back many farmers were starting to reserve part of their land for keeping of buffalo calf for the whole purpose of growing it and selling it at markets for profit. Some people have over dozen of these calfs.
As the farms are small entity due to small land holding people utilise their farming land in many ways. They keeps chickens which roam freely in the fields all day and you can have dozens at a time. They keeps handful of goats or sheeps for the purpose of selling.
As for selling into GCCC or Iran well did I say that each individual farms should rock up to the border with their one chicken or one goat or dozen eggs? You need planning by GOP and you need investment by corporation or even government owned entity which can own abattoirs and than create a supply chain where they can purchase off the small time farms.
This occurs with milk as each small farmer sells maybe 2 or 3 litres of milk a day which is collected and processed either by small time milkman or by nestle or companies alike.
Livestock need land, water, proper diet and shelter. For halal meat export, we need state of art slaughter house and meat storage in Gwadar.
If PTI government can work on few things, they can bring Pakistan out of economic crisis.
Agriculture (new technology and promoting farming in Balochistan), Livestock, halal meat, IT and transportation (Buses, metroRail and Trains).
Water has been our problem, if we had water storage capacity in each of the provinces in addition to mega dams than we could cultivate large span of land and increase our overall farming production which could be enhanced with modern farming techniques.
As for the meat. yes of course we need state of the art slaughter houses and cold storage. However, what I have heard from many people in Saudi Arabia (I can be corrected on this) that they always get frozen meat and not fresh. (I can be corrected)
So our objective should be, in order to get market share, provide fresh meat. Ie slaughter today and within 24 to 36 hours have it on shelves at butcher shops. India supplies meat to GCCC but they cannot provide fresh whereas if we work toward it we can and that will allow us to get a foothold and also dominate the market.
Not just meat but also other aspect of meat ie we can provide halal raw material which goes into making of other items. This could include gelatin, bone marrows or other products that are derived from animals which are used into making or preserving food.
Late last year I was contact by a friend/client of mine who is into import/export business and he was approached by a Turkish company who needed intestine in particular 50-55 or 55-60 calibration. Apparently they wanted from Pakistan as well. I made few inquiries and spoke to few people but it was too much of hassle as there was no mechanisms in place to store and preserve these intestine. Than the people I spoke to seems to not care about it and I let it go.
But what it highlighted as how ignorant we are to use of other part of animal for other purposes.
