Iran begins construction on second nuclear power plant

Its definatelly , a very good thing

Iran with its high birth rates, cant output too much power. Another nuclear power block will allow saving gas for the industries needs, and decreasing pollution by coal power stations

Its a pity construction of another block havent started 4-5 years a go
well, who told you Iran has high birth rate and more importantly who told you Iran can't output too much power ?
and can you show us some of the Iran coal power planet .(in 2014 government made plans to produce such power planet in future)

This nuclear reactor is purely for civilian use. No doubt the IAEA will be monitoring it very stringently considering the nuke deal.

We don't need to leave IAEA and face the consequences . There is a plan C for Iran to simply get the bomb . Everybody knows our missile and nuclear program is somehow connected with the North Korea's . North needs money .That's what we got .16 kg of Uranium or 6 kg of plutonium for a single weapon . We simply buy it If we ever need it. Beside that we should have the kind of legal nuclear deterrence that Japan has . Having enough enrichment infrastructures under IAEA that gives us the ability to make a bomb in less than 48 hours . 6 months or one year breakout time isn't enough .

Back to the topic :
Trusting Russians again , I wonder how many years these plants take this time ..

If Iran really wants the bomb it needs to simply quit all treaties etc. Plan C won't work. I don't think Iran wants the bomb. It seeks nuclear tech for civilian needs.

The project in the southern port city of Bushehr will eventually include two power plants expected to go online in 10 years. Construction on the second plant is set to begin in 2018. The entire project will cost more than $8.5 billion, with each plant producing 1,057 megawatts of electricity.

“Construction of the power plant is a symbol of Iran enjoying the results of the nuclear deal,” Senior Vice-President Ishaq Jahangiri said at a ceremony marking the start of the project.

“We will continue working with Russia as a strategic partner and friend,” he added.
Iran’s sole operational nuclear reactor, also built in Bushehr with Russian assistance, produces 1,000 megawatts. It went online in 2011, and the two countries have agreed to cooperate on future projects.

Iran has a current capacity of 75,000 megawatts, nearly 90 percent coming from fossil fuels. It hopes to generate 20,000 megawatts of electricity through nuclear power in the next 15 years

This is flawed somehow: 2 powerplants generating 2000 Megawatts in 10 years and Iran hopes to generate 20 000 Megawatts of electricity through Nuclear power in the next 15 years !?

Yes, I understand your point and I totally agree with you but some of your compatriots have idea of leaving IAEA and follow North Korean Model. I consider nukes bad if all the countries agree to ban them and destroy them. But as long as any one country has even a single nuke, it will not work.

It's not following NK path , every county could leave such a treaty if it thinks its rights are not recognized ...

If Iran wanted to make a bomb no one could have prevented us , the point is Iran doesn't want ....

The new npp is a part of a bigger plan to construct 8 npps in Iran which the deal was signed 2 years ago .. besides Iran is working on its own design to construct npp, and as far as I know they've designed it and nnp is about to be constructed ... so 20 000 Megawatts is logical ...

Of course we don't want to be another North Korea . Leaving all treaties have consequences for Iran but if Iran ever wants it we can get it without paying any price , (except for the money we give to DPRK) .We already have enrichment infrastructures which could be used for both civilian needs or making a bomb .But right now Iran doesn't need the weapon . However Iran wants the ability to make one . Just like Japan . Iran should just reduce the breakout time from 1 year or 6 months to 48 hours by adding more enrichment centrifuges .

Iran has designed a 350 MW reactor..
Yes I've head of the 8 reactors, still it does not make sense to have 20 000 MW in 15 years.. maybe a combination of Hydro power with Nuclear, or maybe it is a long time goal , but not in 15 years, if construction of a single nuclear reactor takes 10 years!

No it's not . At best :
3 * 1000 MW in Bushehr + 6 Chinese 330 MW + 2 Iranian 350 MW would something around 5700 MW . Each takes at least 10 years !

.
BTW, besides two new units on Busher plant, according to a preliminary agreement between Russia and Iran, in another parts of Iran plans to build four more reactors. Probably same 1000 MW VVER-1000 or more powerful VVER-1200.

As I heard we signed a deal with Russians which in they're gonna build 8 NPPs in Iran ... one has just started and the next one construction will get started next year .. expect current operational Busher nuclear power plant 3 new npps will be built there + 5 other npps in other southern provinces ...
+Our design and Chinese ...even I heard there were negotiations with S Korea ...
