According to some reports, Iran and Qatar have agreed to set up a bilateral strategic cooperation council in order to counter both Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the wider region..

I have no problem with such moves that are ONLY economic and peaceful in nature. without antagonising each other .. accept each other as opponents and respect that there will be differences but stay peaceful and graceful
the governments of these opposing camps in Middle east must consider the well being of their people as a priority NOT the mutual hatred and the egotistic obsessions to down the other side.

Nonsense. Qatar's policies in region are even dirtier than those of Saudis. The groups Qatar is supporting in Syria and its dirty policy towards Iraq and Shias in general through its rich media system (AlJazeera terror network) has nothing short of ISIS.

how unfortunate it is
that every alliance or cooperation (even economical in nature) is only meant to undermine the neighbours or antagonise them.. from Middle east to South East Asia I see this sorry trend.
what you highlighted is sadly correct and it also shows a much ignored silent proxy war between KSA and Qatar.. which is no less violent and tragic than the Iran/ KSA proxy confrontation.

I wish that we mentally and intellectually evolve to a point one day that our relations and cooperation with each other is not primarily based on harming our opponents

BUT mainly to bring rewards for our Own people.
