I dont know if F14 retirement was due to what you are saying (stopping Iran's ways to get spare parts and components of such a powerful platform) or simply that the wheel of Military Indrustrial Complex had to be turning and turning, draining resources and resources of the american taxpayers in a never-ending-story, so USA decided to change a mighty high-tech platform for a less mighty platform (Hornets/SuperHornets) only to favour the Military Ind. Complex ethernal hunger, not for technical reasons.
Also it's important to note USA decided to favour SuperHornets instead of building an even more powerful Tomcat platform, the SuperTomcat, which would have been a decades long air dominant plane.

well , F14s combat results in USAF were disappointing . F14 needed extensive maintenance to be usefull and It was hard to do in combat situation and in carrier , so USA put it aside and they have better fighters to do the role ( F18 for this example ) ... their F15 is ruling skies without even losing a single battle and they already developed F22 , so putting aside F14 couldn't have any negative impact on their air force ( also , it decreased cost of maintenance , training and .... ) ...

F14 era is already over , Iran simply doesn't have any replacement for its useless fleet or else we wouldn't operate these old fighters in 2020s , this is bitter truth , other things are excuses ...

Iran does not have a very high volume of emigrants in international comparison.

Of course most Iranians suffer some economic pressures at this time, not least due to illegal US sanctions, but if objectively compared with what's going on around the world right now, including in the wealthiest developed countries, it becomes clear that Iranians have it much better than some of them like to think.

But your claim was that Iran is incapable of reverse engineering as much as a simple car. Now these weapons systems are immensely more complex and require access to far more advanced technology than automobiles.

Furthermore, to reverse engineer proven and reliable platforms is a sound, cost effective approach for a country likes Iran. China started out the same way.

And the fact that we have started witnessing the design and production of the first types of fully indigenous Iranian weapons since a couple of years (Fateh submarine, Bavar-373 long range high-altitude SAM system, various UAV's and ballistic missiles etc) is representative of the success of this strategy as well as of the eye-catching progress experienced by Iran, which is widely unmatched among developing nations.

Sanctions are ineffective in bringing about "regime change" though, which is the goal here. What sanction can do however, is to "soften up" the targeted nation and prepare the ground for either military aggression, "colored revolution" or proxy war. All these options have failed when it comes to Iran.

I am surprised they haven't attacked Iran yet. Guess they are trying to get people to support the attack first through propaganda and then initiate it. However, i feel that they fear Russia and China will get involved. Iran is no pushover like Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq.
