Iran: A "Role Model" For Pakistan To Get Self-Reliance in Defence

The shia sunni concept is old just cuz you dont accept it does not mean uts not their for example there are people who beleive that Yazeed was right and there are people who curse Hazrat Umar which one is the bladphemer also even in ramzan shias break their fast 10 minutes late in Pakistan should we impose our sunni timing on them?

How Iran treats its Sunnis or Saudis treat its Shia should be of no concern to us. Period.
I don't know what you are trying to prove here.

@Irfan Baloch @waz the thread has gone way off topic
Plus Iran is a completely different couuntry with a different society and resources
It isn't in any way a role model for Pakistan

Discussing and clarifying issues is not against the rules. You can ignore the thread.

Issue was Iran being a role model for Pakistan when it comes to indigenous weapon development.
Not about shia/sunni stuff .
You can ignore my post too and move on.

Sometimes the discussion moves on a tangent to other issues.

Sorry...Iran is no role model for Pakistan...There is no ''Muslim country role model for Pakistan''...First and last they have oil..endless reservoir of oil....sanctions or no sanctions they can survive...other than, they have done nothing exceptional apart from upgrading 1950's US and Russian equipment (Sorry Iranian brothers...its harsh but true...i still believe that you could have done much much better and can still do)
On the other hand we had our high doses of sanctions...sanctions coupled with our droughts, zero industrial and services growth...we survived ....i think we should look in our past...that is enough....we made it through much more worse time than any country...

Is this thread a joke? Self-reliance in what? Making 5th gen dummy Qhaher fighter jets?

All mockup planes are dummies. They should follow Iran's model because Iran can develop long range air defence systems when the likes of Turkey have to beg Germany to bring their patriot to protect them.

Turks can teach Pakistanis alot, for example how to send a man to the moon:

“Ottomans Were The First to Reach The Moon,” says Turkish President World News Daily Report

If self reliance means fibre glass 6th gen starships with Kenwood DVD players.. No thank you.

Troll, because your country can't even develop a short ranged surface to air missile whilst Iran is developing long range surface to air missiles. You can't even develop a radar or an unmanned aerial vehicle, it took you a year to rename a Chinese Ch-3 drone. That "fiber glass starship" was just a mockup of a project as stated many times.
Your country has little indigenous capability. You're just waiting to see what the Chinese are willing to give/sell you.

You people can only keep blaming your backwardness on lack of oil. Here is my comment to another one of your comrades:

Blaming your backward state on lack of oil is a typical cheap and uneducated mindset that people like yourself have shown. There is only one problem with your logic, oil does not mean much when you can't sell it. Iran during the last half decade has been severely sanctioned and unable to sell any considerable amount of oil, and even when it did, it could not get the money due to SWIFT sanctions. But guess what? Even despite this, Iran is still vastly superior to Pakistan in terms of living standards, science, education, security etc etc. Oil does not guarantee prosperity. The Saudis sell 10 times more oil than Iran and yet, Iran makes them look like Somalia when it comes to science. They're highly backward.

You're obviously either ignorant on these issues or rather butt hurt. Always remember, Persians were the first power on this planet and have been rarely, rarely not been a power. Oil is something relatively recent. Without it, Persians will still prosper. So you can blame your backwardness in science, education, economy, security etc to oil, but you're only fooling yourself.

By the way, Iran is lightyears ahead of Pakistan in indigenous military capability. Saying Iran is upgrading 50s technology shows how ignorant you are in this topic. The reality is, Iran has the ability to make long rang surface to air missiles when you can't even build a manpad without chinese technology. Let me know which of these below are upgraded 50's technology:

Sayyad-3 200km+ ranged plus SAM:

These are something your country is decades away from developing.

Iran has developed it's own semi heavy submarines, MALE uav's, long range radars, satellite launchers etc. This is whilst it takes Pakistan an entire year to rename a chinese CH-3 drone and unveil it as "indigenous".

That's a very shallow viewpoint here. I'm not going to defend projects like Qaher, but, to let you have an idea, we couldn't even produce simple mortar rounds and high caliber bullets in some periods of Iran-Iraq war (and we actually lost soldiers and people because of it). I'm telling you this so you can have an idea where we were (and at the end of the war, we were using simple drones, the first country in whole region to make UAVs). We had to beg foreign countries to sell us missiles or to even teach us how to shoot them. For your info, it was Syrians who first taught us how to shoot missiles in 80s.

I'm not saying we are very advanced in making any stuff, but I do know that, in case of a war, we don't have to ask any foreigners to sell us the most simple stuff anymore, letting them blackmail us or play with our lives. Can you say the same about your Arab brothers? They may have the most advanced jets, weapons or other things, but can they do shit if Americans/Europeans leave them like they did to us? Nah, they can't.

So I prefer a junk and low quality domestic industry (although we are far ahead of our neighbors in some fields) to a modern army that mostly relies on foreigners. There is nothing to be proud of when you sell oil and buy advanced weapons.

We have had mistakes, maybe some stupid unveilings for propaganda, but I don't have illusion, I know what's the reality and what's not. For foreigners, it's not that easy to get the whole picture, they mostly want something to make fun of. We have had many missed opportunities, but we have also many things to be proud of.

@Serpentine I think you are going way too easy on this guy. These people can't even develop a uav .The closest thing they did was buy a Chinese Ch-3 and rename it. They have no air defence development capability, no development submarine capability, no radar capability, no engine capability etc etc and they are claiming Iran is not a good role model for them. They seem to be highly deluded. The reality is, Iran is vastly superior to them when it comes to indigenous capability. Of course they resort to nonesensical counter argument like using the mockup of qaher without paying attention to the final developed products Iran is manufacturing.

When your country is nothing but a client state of China, you should not try and make jokes about others.
