A few years back match fixing allegations were rife against prominent cricketers and later on some of these allegations were proven right. People believe that some players from all test playing nations were involved but only boards from Pakistan, India and South Africa took action.

Most of these match fixers, bookies or sattay baz were working for the Indian underworld which was also financing Bollywood movies to move their black money.

In order to facilitate match fixing, drugs and money laundry, the Indian underworld used Bollywood celebrities to their benefit. Some celebrities enjoyed the benefits of underworld links but most took part in these activities out of fear.

ICC took some serious and strong actions to stop match fixing and a gap came which was almost without match fixing. People were still batting but players were not involved and underground was also backed off.

IPL changed all that and IPL has become a heaven for bookies, it brought Bollywood celebrities and Cricket together. It is also said that IPL's commissioner Lalit Modi is wanted in the USA for cocaine charges. Modi is also been threatened by the underworld, it is believed that some deals didn't go as planned and mafia suffered loses which is the real reason behind threats to Modi.

It is high time that ICC take action and ensure that IPL is accepting ICC's inspectors and the IPL is following ICC's anti-corruption policies. At the same time test playing nations needs to scrutinize the finances of their players playing in the IPL.

If IPL is not brought under control today then this disease of match fixing will surface again, this time with full force.

It was possible till some time back but in the current state it has become hard for the underworld to do the same with media and everyone searching for stories within India and you know Indian media how they make story out of nothing. They will bring down IPL into submission if any such thing happens. Scenerio has changed all together now
