IPL spot-fixing: Indian actor Vindu Dara Singh arrested
MUMBAI: Indian actor Vindu Dara Singh has been arrested by Mumbai police for alleged links to bookies. According to several Indian media reports, Singh has accepted his involvement in betting.
49 year old Vindu is the son of Indian actor Dara Singh and has acted in several movies. He also won the third season of the reality show Bigg Boss.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Indian Supreme Court rejected the plea seeking to stop on all remaining Indian Premier League 6 matches in light of the spot-fixing scandal.
The Indian Supreme Court has asked the BCCI to take responsibility for the irregularities and take necessary action, further directing the one-man committee appointed by the BCCI to submit its inquiry report within two weeks.
The Chennai Police have arrested one more bookie, named Prashant in connection the IPL spot fixing scandal and recovered Indian Rs 400,000 from his possession.
Meanwhile the five day police custody of three arrested cricketers, S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan along with 11 bookies ends today. The three players are being questioned before they are produced before a Delhi Court on Tuesday.
