QUETTA: Police have registered a case over the kidnapping of two Chinese nationals who were abducted from Quetta’s Jinnah Town on Wednesday.

The case, which has been registered by Jinnah Town police, includes charges of kidnapping and terrorism.

Moreover, a three-member investigation team under the leadership of DIG Counter-Terrorism Department has been formed to probe the case, informed Balochistan Inspector General of Police Ahsan Mehboob.

The team also includes SSP Investigation and SP Saddar.

Two foreign nationals kidnapped from Quetta

Police are collaborating with other law enforcement agencies for the safe recovery of the kidnapped Chinese nationals, the province's top cop remarked.

Balochistan government spokesperson Anwarullah Haq Kakar, talking to Geo News, said investigations are under way to trace the couple. He added that authorities are doing their best to ensure the couple is not smuggled out of the city by the perpetrators.

The couple were kidnapped while they were eating food at a local eatery on Wednesday afternoon.

The husband and wife, identified as Li Zang Hing and Ming Leassi Ha, were working at a language centre in Jinnah Town where they were teaching Chinese for more than a year.

China vows maximum effort to recover citizens
China said on Thursday it will do all it can to ensure the safe return of two citizens kidnapped in Pakistan and it promised new measures to protect Chinese people and companies working in the country, an important link on its Silk Road infrastructure plan.

"China will continue to make maximal efforts alongside Pakistan to strive for the safe return of the kidnapped individuals as soon as possible,” foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang told a regular briefing in Beijing.

"We will also take further actions to ensure the safety of Chinese individuals and organisations in Pakistan,” he added.

This is about the honor of Pakistan. Foreigners who came to the country trusting in it with their safety despite knowing the security situation should be protected 24/7 and should be made to feel welcome so that they go back with a good image of the country. These incidences are sparked partly by terrorism mentality and Indian interference but that is no excuse. Recovery of the 2 should be paramount.

Of course. Quetta has rather been ignored as a small city compared to Lahore Karachi and Islamabad. Unfortunate really as it hasn't been given the importance it deserves.

I didn't hear about that. Was it in a news article? Reminds me of Muzaffar Khan Jamali or Saba Dashtiari. There was another high profile case too. Forgot the name of the teacher killed in that case. Balochistan is one big mess. The provinces people should be given the task of improving the security situation.

Btw I am glad Hazara killing has been brought down but just as we think situation in Balochistan is improving something happens. This is news from Quetta btw. Most of the news of tribal clashes and personal/family brutality in the rural areas goes unreported.

I was also reading today about the death of a patriot from Musa Khel who was killed by his cousin over land. Part of his family lived in Karachi. Such a loss. He was educated and had a liberal outlook, having looked at the outside world and going to Britain. Musa Khel is by the way the most illiterate as well as one of the most deprived areas of not just Pakistan but Balochistan as well.

Kidnapping menace anywhere can scare away foreign investors. Forget about foreigners even local business move out. Cases of kidnappings are dropping but still unacceptable.

Yeah .. that's what I want : Equal importance to balochistan and that is why I'm here .

This all is just disgusting, it makes quetta look like Some afghanistan .

I had a class fellow whose father was also education minister taahir shafeeq mahmood khan , he was also kidnapped and then was martyred by the bloody terrorists. What a good man he was , everywhere in quetta in many places you see the development done by his funds and that's what these terrorists doesn't want . They don't want development, they don't balochistan to become educated . Our hindu teacher manoj kumaar was also kidnapped but then was released when given them money .

What the hell man , islamabad should realise we aren't colony of pakistan. We deserve that equal security and development you give to other parts of country .

Balochistan is one hell of a place

I'm scared as hell for the Chinese too .
I continually prayed for their and the secretarys release . May Allah keep them all safe .
Allah sub ko apne hufz o amaan me rakhay or jld rehaai de . Aameen.

Please spare us your nonsense and keep us out of this thread.

It is very possible and i m sure and i know that india is involved because we know that how much low india gets with its enmity and jealousy with pakistan.

Balochistan has more security than most areas of Pakistan. Balochistan has an active insurgency and hence incidents like these will not be uncommon.

Possible, not possible. You know, you don't know. How high we can get or how low we can get is all hogwash for this thread.

CPEC and Balochistan problem are your creations and problems. Do not pull us into this discussion and blame us for your inability to develop the Baloch province.

.
With CPEC there is going to be flurry of chinese nationals working at different levels.

Its easy to give security to say a team of cricket players visiting coz they would be together at one place at any given time, but its not easy to give security to so many nationals working at different places.

Sorry the countless terrorists caught and spies puts Indian state sponsored terrorism squarely in the middle of this.

You can also add on video evidence from indian security chiefs giving their support to terrorism in top of this as well.

We are only 'morally' supporting them. Rest is hogwash as usual by you DGISPR due its inability to control your Baloch population.

Heck, nobody in the world accepts your version. Except the Pakistani 'awam' which believes that PA was not involved in Kargil, Osama was not in Pakistan, 1971 was Indian aggression, Kasab was some Hindu, PA is sitting on Siachen and on and on and on. Btw, even those caught were gunmen not terrorists. Poor Balochis are being turned militants because of excesses of the PA. Terrorists they are not. Militants probably, fighting the decades of blatant oppression by the Pakistani state.

See how this discussion will go? So please spare us the nonsense. Continue your discussions and don't pull India into this discussion. Please stick to known facts of the case.

It is natural.
When a terrorist KY caught red handed from Balochistan and India moves to ICJ to save the terrorist as an asset.
When Indian government ministers openly suggests the idea to declare Balochistan as a separate state.
May be you are not part of Indian government, so you feel the general behaviour as odd here. If you are part of government you have a better understanding of such reaction.
