Invasion of Libya by US & UK ?

I am studying the events in Libya very closely and looking at British & US media gives me a feeling that a ground is being prepared to invade Libya in this vulnerable time & of course "get their OIL".
interviews of anonymous so called "Libyans" are being played on BBC and other channels over and over again "who are pleading for international intervention"

Short of Gaddafi using chemical weapons on the rebels I don't see it happening. Obama doesn't have the domestic support to pull it off at this time.

Why are people even comparing Libya with Afghanistan or even Iraq for that matter? Why would US or UK invade Libya?

People called the Iraq war a war for OIL. Where is the money then, eh? Why isnt Iraqi oil paying for the wars? Hey, Qatar or UAE or Bahrain are better and easier options. Arabs cannot fight, so why not invade those countries for their oil?

Stupid comments, seriously! Libya had a proper functioning Air Force and well entrenched air defences with not many crippling sanctions as opposed to that of Iraq. And yet, Libyan air force and defences was decimated in a few days. What does that tell you?

No need to invade countries such Bahrain to get oil. They have been the gas station for US for decades. Saudis these days just come to help the US out of Bahrains' mess so people in the States can get cheap gas as before.

Yes, yes. The same "LION" who accepted that Lockerbie bombing was a Libyan act and paid billions as compensation. The same "LION" who had a covert nuclear weapons program but then after the fate of Osirik reactor and North Korea and Saddam Hussein declared his intention of stopping his nuclear weapons program for removal of sanctions and coddled up to western countries.

FYI, Libya is part of OPEC, so is 'de facto' gas station for the world. What makes it a lucrative target for invasion as opposed to Bahrain or UAE or even Qatar? Iraqi oil isnt paying for US/NATO wars. So how would Libyan oil pay for it?

Insurgency was mostly concentrated in and around urban areas and mostly it was a civil war with different sects targeting each other and then NATO soldiers. US could have easily pumped out oil for its own use. That 'deep hole' didnt affect oil wells.
