Intrastate Tensions in India and Pakistan

That's believable, the Taliban rather be allies with Pak army than to let a Hindu army invade Muslim lands. I remember reading an article on BBC long time ago that George Bush asked President Musharraf to contribute Pakistani troops to Iraq to help US soldiers. Musharraf said there is a chance he may send them but he also warned Bush that he can't promise Pakistani soldiers' loyalty to US soldiers. lolz  I cracked up. This shows that the Muslim Ummah has gotten so bad that Muslims are re-thinking how they should conduct themselves with each other against non-Muslim forces.

Pakistan is a ISLAMIC republic with URDU as common language. Its very easy to keep the ppl united with their emotions on religion and language and culture. So I am not surprised by mushrraf statement. Pakistan is trying to project as international leaders for ISLAM and URDU.

When it comes to India its not so easy. It cant be hindu becouze we have more than 22+crore minorities. It cant be language, It cant be a national language like hindi etc. So keeping the people emotion is very difficult. Only way to pass on to the generations is by making Indian states more dependent on each other and ppl feel comfortable to travel and stay across the country. Indian govt has done great job on this aspect.

We normally hear about PAKISTAN breakup not during WARS but instead during change in administration or power distribution. So I wanted to know about political views to maintain strong pakistan.

IMO it is almost impossible to disintegrate Pakistan now bcoz one of the qualities that our people have is that they get united when it comes to the country. That’s the reason why we don’t have any major separation movement in Pakistan (BLA does not have local support and Taliban are not against the integrity of Pakistan they have other objectives).

Well everyone in Pakistan knows how Hindus can act in Muslim majority regions. Ferozpur, now in India, used to be a Muslim majority region before partition and now Muslims dont even exist in that district because hindus and sikhs killed all the Muslims living in that region during partition.
And we all know whats happening in Kashmir in these past 61 years.
Hindoostan's army has no place in Muslim lands everyone in Pakistan would agree on that.

BLA are crazy lunatics gone wild on Indian rupees.

Members from BLA have been caught walking around in New Delhi and recently there was a guy pretending to be Baloch and wrote an article in his BLA blog that Balochs should all convert into hinduism and in another BLA blog the address for the head office of BLA is located in Isreal. http://www.defence.pk/forums/national-political-issues/18479-bla-being-supported-israel.html
Thats BLA for you.

Balochs make up only 3.5% of Pakistan's population. Out of more than 50 Baloch tribes only 2 Baloch tribes want an independent Balochistan, thats less than 1% of Baloch population in Pakistan. Even that 1% is leaving that thought ever since Musharaf left.

You're right, Taliban dont want to break Pakistan they just want to impose their version of Islam in all areas of Pakistan and also fight Americans in Afghanistan and regain control of Afghanistan.

Thread title changed to not be so inflammatory and better guide the discussion.

I would ask Indians and Pakistanis to be respectful of the views the other side presents, and not try and force your opinions on why you think the 'other country is tearing apart'. Of course feel free to ask questions, respectfully, related to issues you think are a source of tensions but haven't been addressed.

Its a good subject to listen to the other side on.

On the subject, most of the inter-provincial tensions you hear about in Pakistan are similar to those in India - sharing resources etc. Perhaps the most contentious issue isn't an inter-provincial one, but rather a tussle between the strong Federal Government and all the provinces over allowing the provinces more authority over their affairs.

On a political level, there is almost no political party that disagrees with delegating more powers to the provinces in principle, though the implementation has not yet occurred, which probably has to do with how all past rulers, military and civilian, became power hungry once in office.
