What's new

Interview: Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed, Chief of the Pakistan Air Force

I don't think so. It is risky to go with air-to-air re-fuelers into the enemy battle field. Yes, FC-20 could be used for deep strikes.

Air-air refuellers, AWACS, AEW and any other force multiplier will never set step directly into the combat zone or cross IB except in the conditions of a complete Air supremacy…These platforms will operate and remain at the stand off ranges and support the actual operations…..Its only the Escort Support Jammers ( ESJ) that will tag along the strike package…. Rest supporting elements will remain well inside on their own sides...

By deep strike, what do you really mean? In Indo-Pak scenario, how deep into the enemy territory you consider merits a deep strike? Any figures to support? :coffee:

When I said deep-strike, I meant, cities of India on the east or south not just Delhi or Mumbai.

.
Will any strike by IAF on Lahore, or a PAF strike on Amritsar be considered as deep strike? i dont think so..

Forget about Delhi or Mumbai or Karachi or Sargodha, no fighter will penetrate that deep into an enemy territory now….I said earlier in another thread that IMO the days of deep strike in Indo-Pak scenario are over….Its not 1965 or 71 anymore…Things have changed and so as the modern tactics…

With scores of modern radars, jammers, ground defences, long/short range missiles, BVRs, AWACS/AEWs etc etc on both sides, no commander will risk sending his men/women at an objective where gains are far less than the expected attrition….

I believe that deep strike role will be taken up by unmanned sources instead of jet fighters now…Both countries are spending huge sums in cruise missile technologies. These missiles can carry nuclear as well as conventional warheads …

Its much cheaper, safer , accurate and operationally viable to let go a cruise missile with conventional warhead rather than sending 20 manned fighters deep into the enemy territory….Rules of the games have changed and so as the strategies...:enjoy:

Jf-17 will be able to Equipped with both Western and Chinese weapons here are some of the Bomb that will loaded on Jf-17 thunder

MK-82 Snake Eye
GBU-12
GBU-10
BL-755

and H-4 / H-2 as well.

But the main Weapons that will be Loaded on Thunder will be Nuclear, JF-17 can carry Nuclear Bombs but Pakistan has a better way by Using missiles for Nuclear weapons delivery so JF-17 probably wont be used as a Nuclear Bomber but it can be used.

PAF currently has very limited GBU series in service so no chance of JF-17 with american armaments other then aim-9. As for first jf-17 batch PAF will likely use chinese laser guided bombs, anti-runway, dumb bombs, RSA H-2,H-4, and Raad CM. armament package will gradually improve with newer blocks.
