Interpol notice against 2 Pak Army majors in 26/11 case

Interesting part is this:

'The warrants were issued on the basis of disclosures made by American national and Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist David Headley, who was extensively questioned by the NIA officials in June this year.'

So Headley did say all those that India claimed he had said.

These 5 people now are designated as international fugitives. Not much of an action since Pakistan already knows where they are. A red corner notice is basically an international arrest warrant.

This is an outcome of the Headly affair where he named and identified 2 serving officers of Pakistani army. Just a little embarrasement. Dont think Pakistan will act on it ....

That way there is a pending Red Corner notice on Hafiz Saeed too. And he is just roaming free and chilling in Pakistan.. :)

Skipping the sarcasm, Its not as simple as you tried to put it. A red warrant on two serving people in the PA is just more then just little embarrassment as you simply put it.
I suppose we are about to see the dossier being handed over part 2 but this time interpol is been involved, lets wait and see how Pakistan reacts to this.

Red corner notice

A red notice is a request used by Interpol to request extradition.

Certain requests used by Interpol are sent in the form of notices. The color of each notice determines the type of information being sent or received by Interpol and its members.

An Interpol red notice is issued at the request of a country's law enforcement authority. The requesting country asks for a red notice to be issued when a criminal evades arrest and escapes from the country. Interpol's role is to assist the national police forces in identifying or locating those persons with a view to their arrest and extradition.

Two types of red notices can be issued: the first type is based on an arrest warrant and is issued for a person wanted for prosecution; the second type is based on a court decision for a person wanted to serve a sentence.

It is just an arrest warrant so proven until guilty.
Arrest/search warrant is issued only when there is prima facie evidence of guilt. Headley's singing like a cannery sealed the deal. True it still doesn't mean that they are indeed guilty, but with regard to 26/11 politics, it sort of validates, only partially, India's stand.

The website says:

Forename: Major (Seriously)

Forename: Major, Ali (What an amateur site)

It is just an arrest warrant so proven until guilty.

its the interpol website.....if you have probs take it up with them

what do you mean by "proven until guilty"?

Pakistan will do nothing for sure as they knew this all along. All this will mean is these gentlemen will not be able to travel overseas.

Deny !

No one by this name !

..and so on.

Till Mush admits it 10 yrs later.

So what???

They will be arrested or not is not the main thing but to be on Interpol wanted list for 26/11 terror attack by two serving officers of PA is an answer to many. Specially few days back Pakistan's representative Amjad Hussain Sial to UN told in his speech how India's 'state sponsored terrorism' is creating problems across its neighbors specially in Kashmir, Pakistan, Sri Lanka etc.
