Agreed. On the same note, I would really suggest you to read up on how the American assault rifles M16's came into picture. What was its history. Before it became the fixture in Hollywood movies.

So Indian MIC, with its laziness and bureaucracy, is falling a lot. So I give you the new Excalibur and such. Read up on it.

Thank you for your suggestion, but my issue is more with the mindset, than the rifle itself. Just because X,Y
or Z, was stupid enough to equip it's foot soldier with a 2nd rate weapon, is no justification, that you should do it too.

Now coming to the what I meant by "mindset issue." Indigenous is very good, but it should be 200% reliable, when it comes to a soldiers personal gear. IF an ounce of doubt exists to it's capability, then it should not be fielded. You are risking the life of someone, who is your first line of defence. He deserves a lot more respect, than blind jingoism.
