₹300 crore hole in Air India pocket as Pakistan air space closes

Clearly logic isnt your strong suite. Pakistan has blocked all international traffic. So entire 779 million is now 0. And mr smartass what route other than to and from india would use Pakistan as a major overflying route. Man you seem exessively dumb.

Gangoo, how dumb are you?

The $779 million is for the entire year. The airspace was closed for 28 days and it is now open. Clearly pointing out Jet Airways failure and the huge job losses under namard Modi have touched a raw nerve. Your failed gangunomics is hilarious nonetheless.

Threat, and consequent danger, is an assessment, made by the security establishment of a state. There are signs and symptoms, some overt and some covert.

What I expressed, in my comment, is the assessment of the Pakistan, which has been expressed virtually by all the top civil and military representatives of Pakistan.

Primarily, it comprises:
1) Threat by India of missile attack, which has not been taken back
2) Presence of both armies, along the international border, again, initiated by India, and followed by Pakistan
3) Lack of appropriate international guarantee, of non aggression

So unless India makes an official statement against missile strikes against Pakistan and the world doesn't give a guarantee to Pakistan of no action by India, Pakistan will keep its airspace closed ?

I just think Pakistan is being way too paranoid and pardon me for saying but scared about an Indian retaliation. That threat has clearly passed now.

Indian losss of 300 crores plus $ 85 million loss in 2 IAF Jets and 1 Helicopter down.

As I said in my comment that the security establishment of a country makes the assessment of the threat and its potential quantum, based upon the information available to them, a large part of which is of course secret and not revealed to the public.

Pakistan and India had had many such standoffs in the past, where military has come eyeball to eyeball. This is not the first time. Only new aspect possibly is the threat of use of missiles by India. On February 27, after the air conflict, Pakistan received the intelligence that India has intention of conducting such missile strikes. That was thwarted, since Pakistan communicated that such an attack would be retaliated by a 3 times quantum. Possibly, the interlocutors, in this exchange of communication, were US and Russia. A substantial part of this information is now in public domain.

No, I don't think that world at large guarantees any such thing. I believe that certain states, who are powerful and as well have strong relations with both country, can do such kind of mediation and provide assurances to each party of nonaggression.

Obviously, one of the first overt action, for cessation of hostilities, would be removal of the armed forces from the international border, which under normal circumstances remains peaceful.

Paranoia would not be an appropriate term; since it pertains to fear from imaginary entities. Here, it is a clear and present danger, particularly keeping in view the mindset of Modi and his coterie.

There is no scare, at the common public level. It was not there even during the peak of the conflict. As for the military, it is their job to posture in accordance with the posture of the enemy state.

May be you are right that the threat has passed away. But, as I said, it is the job of our security establishment to make an assessment.

why not India officially requests Pakistan to ease these sanctions by Pakistan on India.

and admits that India failed miserably on all fronts and starts working with Pakistan like civilized people?

Our airspace, our wish and our rules. But it's strange that Hindustanis have obsessed with term "bypassing Pakistan" but still want to fly over Pakistan.

o_O So you don't deny own airspace right to Indian carriers and then complaint why are we using the airspace!

Has logic deserted Pakistanis en masse?

I, on behalf of govt of India requests good Pakistani folks on an online forum to consider lifting these crippling sanctions on India. In return we will be open to export of timatars and throw in grass to graze for donkeys too.

That will make us almost even.

The Indian intention of conducting missile strike was thwarted by Pakistan by releasing Wng Cmdr Abhinandan. You can posture all you want but the fact remains IK unilaterally conveyed his decision to release the man immediately next day. What was the urgency?

sorry i mean beg not request......i think indians are good at begging.

We denied eastern airspace which hurt India most and crucial for our security. We are earning revenue from India for southern and western airspace without any security risk. I don't find any reason that we shouldn't do thing which benefits us. We haven't coined terms like "bypassing India", "Isolating India", "Ignore India", nor we gloat any such thing. "bypassing Pakistan" is India's call and ball is her court.

Your PM is literally making a threat every other day. Are you being wilfully ignorant?

Pakistanis are like dodos. They cant see the truth.
Even with 779 million number. Indian loss is nowhere near 779, its in the order of a few 100 million over a year.

This costs Pakistan much more. Care to counter with numbers and facts or just want to continue on rhetoric?

Give a source for this 779 million number. Don't extrapolate, give a source. Someone on this thread mentioned CAA made 171 million for entire 2018 for overflight charges.

You are also comparing 2 month loss for one Indian airline vs entire year for CAA.

Tomatoes are welcome; but keep the second item yourself, since it would be far more needed by you people.

I suppose that would explain why Khulbushan Yadav was also returned to India.

Which threat did he make recently ? You can make me aware. The last thing i read a while ago was that he claimed to have threatened Pakistan with missile strikes after the pilot was captured. Nothing that would suggest that he plans to do anything now. You can correct me if I am wrong.

There are honestly too many to keep track of them. I think you will find them sprinkled all over this forum.

Airspace curbs after Indo-Pak skirmishes affecting 350 flights daily: report
Anwar Iqbal Updated April 30, 2019

WASHINGTON: Flight restrictions imposed after India-Pakistan skirmishes in February are affecting hundreds of commercial and cargo flights, says OPSGROUP, which monitors international flight operations.

In a report titled “No end in sight for Pakistan airspace restrictions,” the group calculated that the closed airspace was affecting as many as 350 flights daily. OPSGROUP made this calculation using data provided by the International Civil Aviation Organisation.

A map of regional flights, made recently by the Reuters, reported that the restrictions affected at least 311 flights between four airports in Europe and four in Southeast Asia.

Pakistan continues to restrict its airspace after an airstrike in late February by the Indian military in northern Pakistan. Most of the restrictions implemented in February remain in place, effective through to May 15 at the earliest.

OPSGROUP and FlightRadar24, another flight monitoring agency, noted that the disruption is forcing “international airlines to take costly and time-consuming detours, adding flight time for passengers and fuel costs for airlines”.

Pakistan lies in the middle of a vital aviation corridor. Flights to India often pass directly over Pakistan and some come extremely close to Kashmir, where India and Pakistan engaged in air clashes in February.

FlightRadar24 named Singapore Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa and Thai Airways among the airlines whose flights fly close to Kashmir.

The Indian media reported this week that Air India has suffered losses of around Rs300 crore since late February as its long haul flights from New Delhi are taking longer to reach destinations in Europe, the Gulf and the US because of the closure of Pakistan’s airspace.

The location of PK determines that she can ignore the eastern route .
And IND can't leave the western route, and Indian fools have been avoiding such a clear fact that they are performing for the general election.
