As for MG3, why does Germany still use it? It is probably the best infantry support weapon you could ask for and are locally built in the thousands by POF. Some come with sophisticated scopes for long distance suppression fire. The large NATO round is ideal for our terrain and pretty much every soldier is trained in it's use. It rarely jams like some of the western machine guns and is very accurate and durable due to simplicity in design. It does have a high rate of fire that can lead to quick overheating but if fired in sustained bursts it's not a problem, and changing the barrel is easy to do in the heat of battle. It is superior in fact to the Russian PK variants as well in my opinion.

Pakistan Army rite now doesnt need to change its Infantry weapons and equipment however some of the equipment are changed as well but if they need to change G3 they should opt for (Ak 5)

The Ak 5 (sometimes AK5) is the Swedish version of the FN FNC assault rifle with certain modifications,The Ak 5 is the service rifle of the Swedish Armed Forces.

There are several specialized versions available: the Ak 5B with a telescopic sight and a shortened version, the Ak 5D.

A modified version of the Colt M203 grenade launcher can also be attached to the Ak 5. This setup is simply designated Ak 5 med granattillsats meaning "Ak 5 with grenade [launcher] attachment".

and most importantly PA should replace RPG's with AT4!!!

AT4 is a portable one-shot anti-tank weapon built in Sweden by Saab Bofors Dynamics (previously Bofors Anti Armour Systems). In the U.S. and NATO inventory, it replaces the M72 LAW (Light Anti-armor Weapon). Saab has had considerable sales success with the AT4, making it one of the most common light anti-tank weapons in the world. It is intended to give infantry units a means to destroy or disable armored vehicles and fortifications, although it is not generally sufficient to defeat a modern main battle tank (MBT). The launcher and projectile are manufactured prepacked and issued as a single unit of ammunition, rather than as a weapon system, with the launcher discarded after a single use.
For Infantry Use only!!!

Nice weapon but too expensive and one use only.

I THINK IT IS STUPID TO SWITCH FROM 7.62 MM TO 5.56 MM BECAUSE UNITED STATES IS TRYING TO CHANGE THE INFANTRY STANDARD ROUND 5.56 MM TO 6.8 MM AND THE 5.56 MM HAVE NOT BEEN AFFECTIVE IN AFGHANISTAN AND IRAQ 5.56 IS A FAST BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH KINETIC ENERGY TO PUT DOWN A TARGET

RPG - 29 ALL THE WAY !

The RPG-29 is a tube-style rocket launcher designed to be carried and used by a single soldier. On the top of the launch tube is the x 2.7 1P38 optical sight. On the bottom of the tube is a shoulder brace for proper positioning along with a pistol grip trigger mechanism. A 1PN51-2 night sight can be fitted.

Two projectiles are available for the weapon; the PG-29V anti-tank/anti-bunker round and the TBG-29V thermobaric anti-personnel round. The PG-29V round has a tandem-charge HEAT warhead for defeating explosive reactive armour (ERA). Eight fins pop out as the rocket leaves the launch tube and stabilize the rocket in flight.

The warhead is extremely powerful, and in tests conducted against T-80 and T-90 tanks it penetrated the tanks over their frontal arcs.[1]

The RPG-29 entered service with the Soviet army in 1989.

Claims were made by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz that significant numbers of the RPG-29 were passed on from Syria to Hezbollah and were reportedly a major source of IDF casualties in the 2006 Lebanon War.[2] A spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry denied that Russia had supplied arms directly to Hezbollah, even though the Israeli allegation was that the weapons were supplied indirectly by Syria. [3] According to Kommersant magazine, unidentified Russian sources involved in the talks acknowledged the possibility of a weapons transfer between Syrian officers and Hezbollah during the Syrian withdrawal from Lebanon.[4] The Russian government in fact has moved to tighten control over the use of Russian-made weapons by the importing states, suggesting that the visit of the Israeli delegation did bear fruit.[5]

In 2007, British officials confirmed that an RPG-29 round penetrated the frontal ERA and hull of a Challenger 2 tank during an engagement in al-Amarah, Iraq, injuring a crew member.[6]

In May 2008, The New York Times disclosed that an American M1 tank had also been damaged by an RPG-29 in Iraq.

Here's what I want to know...why are the latest Chinese small arms not evaluated sooner? One thing we definitely don't have that we should :

QLB-06 / QLZ-87B semi-automatic grenade launcher (PR China)

The QLZ 87B light grenade launcher is designed to be carried and used by one man. It is self-loading in operation and is configured to be fired from the right-shoulder. An optical sight is fitted to a short length of Picatinny-type rail of the left-side of the launcher, although alternative use iron sights are fitted in the long carrying handle above the body. An adjustable height bipod is provided and a large double-baffle muzzle brake is fitted to help reduce recoil. Care should be taken to distinguish the QLZ 87B from the earlier QLZ 87 (see separate entry) as it appears to be a separate development. The QLZ 87B provides effective fire out to 1000 m against area targets and 600 m against point (light armoured) targets. Ammunition types available include High-Explosive, High-Explosive Dual-Purpose (HEDP), High-Explosive Incendiary (HEI) and marker rounds.

Caliber: 35x32mm SR
Type: gas operated, magazine fed semi-automatic grenade launcher
Overall length: 1046 mm
Weight: 9,1 kg unloaded
Effective range: up to 600 m (point targets), 1000 m (area targets)
Feed and capacity: drum magazine, 4 or 6 rounds

Heck yah RPG-29 would kill almost anything in its way. I read it even damaged a Chalanger tank. If we adopt the RPG-29 and QLB 06 we would diffently be on the right track to doing things. But I dont think India would let us purchase the RPG-29 from Russia espically now

Here's a better alternative to RPG-29 even...

I'm sure we can work out a deal with Jordan who will be making these under license...

RPG-32 'Hashim' antitank / multipurpose grenade launcher (Russia / Jordan)

Caliber: 105mm (also can fire special 72mm rockets)
Type: rocket
Overall length: 1200 mm (complete with 105mm launch container) or 900 mm (complete with 72mm launch container)
Weight: 3 kg unloaded, 10 kg loaded with 105mm rocket, 6kg loaded with 72mm rocket
Effective range: up to 200 m
Armour penetration: ERA + 650 mm RHA with 105mm PG-32V tandem HEAT rocket

The RPG-32 multipurpose grenade launcher was developed between 2005 and 2007 by Russian state-owned FGUP 'Bazalt' organization on request and under contract from Jordan. First RPG-32 'Hashim' grenade launchers will be delivered to Jordan from Russia in 2008, but it is planned that mass production of RPG-32 and its ammunition will be conducted in Jordan under license at the JRESCO factory. The RPG-32 is a modular weapon that inherited proven and successful solutions in design of the weapon and rockets from earlier Russian grenade launchers, and it can be used to successfully engage and destroy a wide variety of battlefield targets, from modern main battle tanks and armored personnel carriers to bunkers, military equipment and troops in defilade or in the open. This versatility is achieved by using as much as four types of ammunition in one weapon - two types of 105mm rockets and two types of smaller and lighter 72mm rockets. In each caliber, there's a HEAT rocket (with tandem warhead in 105mm caliber, optimized against ERA-equipped tanks) and a FAE / thermobaric rocket with enhanced fragmentation effect, optimized against lightly armored and soft targets.

The RPG-32 multipurpose grenade launcher consists of a short, reusable launcher tube with grips, firing controls and sight mount, detachable collimating sight and disposable ammunition containers, which are pre-loaded at the factory and attached to the rear end of the launcher before firing. Once rocket is fired , the empty container is detached from the launcher and discarded. There are four types of rockets available for RPG-32, all ballistically matched to the maximum range - two in 105mm caliber and two in 72mm caliber. All use solid-fuel rocket motors which burn out completely while rocket is still in the launcher, and all are stabilized in flight using switch-blade type folding fins at the rear.
