Pancasila
the official philosophical foundation of the Indonesian state. Pancasila consists of two old Javanese words (originally from Sanskrit), "pañca" meaning five, and "sīla" meaning principles. It comprises five principles held to be inseparable and interrelated:
  1. Believe in the one and only God, (in Indonesia, Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa).
  2. Just and civilized humanity, (in Indonesian, Kemanusiaan Yang Adil dan Beradab).
  3. The unity of Indonesia, (in Indonesian, Persatuan Indonesia).
  4. Democracy guided by the inner wisdom in the unanimity arising out of deliberations amongst representatives (in Indonesian, Kerakyatan Yang Dipimpin oleh Hikmat Kebijaksanaan, Dalam Permusyawaratan dan Perwakilan)
  5. Social Justice for all of the people of Indonesia (in Indonesian, Keadilan Sosial bagi seluruh Rakyat Indonesia)
In 1945, facing the need to pull together the diverse archipelago, the future President Sukarno promulgated Pancasila as philosophical foundation of the Indonesian state (Indonesian: "Dasar Negara"). Sukarno's political philosophy was mainly a fusion of elements of socialism, nationalism and monotheism. This is reflected in a proposition of his version of Pancasila he presented on 1 June 1945, to the Investigating Committee for the Preparation of Independence (Badan Penyelidik Usaha Persiapan Kemerdekaan Indonesia, BPUPKI), in a speech known as "The Birth of the Pancasila".
  1. Kebangsaan Indonesia (Indonesian Nationality), an emphasis on Nationalism
  2. Internasionalisme (Internationalism), an emphasis on justice and humanity
  3. Musyawarah Mufakat (Deliberative Consensus), an emphasis on Representative democracy which holds no ethnic dominance but an equal vote for each member of the council
  4. Kesejahteraan Sosial (Social Welfare), influenced by the idea of the welfare state, an emphasis on populist Socialism
  5. KeTuhanan yang Berkebudayaan, an emphasis on monotheism and religiosity

After several BPUPKI meetings, the five principles (sila) proposed by Sukarno were rearranged. The fifth sila concerning religiosity was promoted to become the first sila. Internationalism, justice and humanity remain as parts of the second sila. The previously first sila about nationalism became the third sila about Indonesian unity. The third and fourth sila about democracy and social welfare become the fourth and fifth sila.

Pancasila was thus intended to help solve the conflicting priorities among Muslims, nationalists and Christians. The 1945 Constitution of Indonesia then set forth Pancasila as the embodiment of basic principles of an independent Indonesian state.

Thank you so much for the thorough answer, Ms. @madokafc.

应该式种过任,但是是个只会喷粪的喷子果粉,他前天刚来那个号,嘛阴独任,骂了好久页被封了,我诠他别直来直去嘛任,他不听,说自己还有别的号。
I get the jist of your post. My self taught Chinese need a lot of working, but I get your point. You are right. Don't waste your time with this dude.

Ms. @madokafc , can you expand on this Pancasila Ideology? What is it about ?

Pancasila is the only thing keeping Indonesia from becoming another middle-east.
Pancasila = five principles (faith, humanity, unity, democracy, social justice).
But when people talk about pancasila that can also mean our national motto taken from a 13th century javanese poem

"bhinneka tunggal ika, tan hana dharma mangrwa"
"we are indeed different, yet we are the same, because there is no duality of truth".

Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus have different teaching, but the essence of every religion is to do kindness and self-sacrifice (dharma), thus we are the same.

In a nutshell, it's secularism.
Pancasila has gotten some notorious reputation in the past, because the way Suharto regime glorify it, and use it to justify heavy handed violence against his opponents (including the 1965 anti-communist massacre).

Thank you for that wonderful explanation. Indeed, with the Principle of Pancasila, Indonesia is poised to become a leading force , and an example of how a nation that is multicultural can realize the democratic principles. Wishing the best for your country and people.

the hatred toward Chinese in Indonesia can be traced back to colonial era, in the Dutch East Indies Chinese were categorized as second class citizen while the natives were categorized as third class citizen by the dutch government, so native people were angry because of jealousy and feeling betrayed as the sons of the soil...

No. Pancasila Youth is just a gangster group from Suharto era. Our standing army is only TNI (Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Indonesia National Army). and there is no " group or battalion or division in TNI with the name of Pancasila Youth.

So the divide and rule tactic worked out perfectly for the colonizers.
