Indonesia stands up to China on Natuna Islands

I am not talking about we don't generate Dollar by export at all, we too, but is not much significant than our domestic consumption. And how do you think Indonesia can reach the number one Economy in ASEAN by large margin than the rest of any country in ASEAN and have 120 billion US dollar account balance in US dollar? By Foreign Investment and tourism.

BTW i am still reporting you, and hoping you will get banned this time
No country in TPP like JP-US will invest on Indonesia any more coz u r not TPP member. We will happy to see ur economy collapse like u guys r happy to destroy our boats :pop:

China too, our domestic consumption will soon catch up that of the US, since our population is 4 times larger.
China domestic consumption cant consume all China's products and bcz not many nation use CNY, so China also cant get enough USD to buy raw material from Middle east and Africa.

Game over for CN when US beat Putin in oil war and start running TPP after that. :pop:

Well, China's auto market in 2014 was 23.5 million units, that alone is already much bigger than the entire GDP of Vietnam.

Don't make me laugh, you are a poor man who is making fun at a new rich guy.

From January 15 to 16, 2015, the 9th meeting of the Technical Committee on Maritime Cooperation between China and Indonesia was held in Beijing. The meeting stressed the importance of maritime cooperation between China and Indonesia, and agreed to speed up the implementation of the consensus on the synergy of the ocean development strategies of China and Indonesia reached by President Xi Jinping and President Joko Widodo of Indonesia during the 22nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting.

The meeting reviewed the positive progress achieved by the two sides in maritime cooperation since the 8th meeting of the Technical Committee on Maritime Cooperation in December 2013 and the 2nd meeting of the Maritime Cooperation Committee in May 2014. The meeting expressed welcome to the smooth implementation of the project "Vessel Traffic Service Operator Capacity Building for Lombok and Sunda Straits", and made positive comments on the preparatory work of the project "China-Indonesia Joint Maritime Search and Rescue Sand Table Exercises". Member units of the two sides conducted constructive consultations on continuously promoting approved projects, and agreed to maintain close communication on other potential projects.

The meeting agreed to continuously strengthen the bilateral dialogue and cooperation in maritime safety, navigation safety, maritime scientific research and environmental protection, fisheries and other fields, greatly enriching the connotation of China-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership.

The two sides agreed to hold the 10th meeting of the Technical Committee on Maritime Cooperation between China and Indonesia in Indonesia in 2015.

I hope our members should read the statement carefullly please that Natuna Islands do not warrant any conflict between China and Indonesia; let alone escalating and blowing the issue out of proportions unnecessarily. Both governments and people value the co-operation and friendship and we are not trying to making enemies out of each other at all

The West did not drop any opportunity to alienate one from another for the third world, which to consolidate their crumbling control of the third world.
One of the recent news is Thailand want to buy submarines with bidder from China to deter China. I think this ironical news is not due to their stupidity but lie too much and become their nature.

Indonesia is taking a tough stance against China in its fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing by confiscating Chinese vessels and severing recent privileges given to China to fish in Indonesian waters.

After confiscating more than nine Chinese-linked vessels for alleged poaching, the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry said on Friday that the government had also revoked a deal signed with China in 2013 that would give Chinese fishermen an upper hand compared to other countries to fish in Indonesia.

According to the ministry’s director general for capture fisheries, Gellwynn Yusuf, ministry regulation no. 56/2014 on the ban on large fishing operations by foreign vessels had also affected previous partnerships with various countries.

“We used to have a partnership with the Chinese government in the fisheries sector in which they invested in the country. The Chinese ships would then operate in a joint venture with local companies. But now that we have the new regulations in place, all previous partnerships cease to apply,” Gellwynn said.

The government entered into an agreement with China on Oct. 2, 2013 in Jakarta, followed by another meeting in Beijing with Cui Lifeng, deputy director general for the fisheries bureau of the Chinese Agriculture Ministry. The meeting addressed issues concerning a partnership in creating an integrated fisheries estate in Natuna.

“I myself was there to sign the MoU [memorandum of understanding] in China. They were allowed to fish in Indonesia under the condition that they enter a joint venture with an Indonesian company and own not more than 49 percent of the stakes. They have to follow the rules set under the investment law.”

After President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo took office on Oct. 20, Indonesia has upped the ante in its battle against illegal fishing by capturing many vessels from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, China, Taiwan and Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Citing an annual loss of more than US$2 billion from foreign poachers, Indonesia has sunk three vessels from Vietnam, two from Thailand, two from PNG and one from Malaysia.

In December, the Navy sought to capture 22 Chinese vessels, but only eight were actually caught.

According the ministry, six of the ships are owned by PT Sino Indonesia Shunlida Fishing. The company’s president director is Zhang Shuiming, a Chinese national.

“The ships are registered as Indonesian, with Indonesian flagging. But they did not return to their port of origin to offload their catches,” said Alina Tampubolon, the ministry’s director for ships and vessels.

However, it remains unclear whether Indonesia will sink the vessels as it is still waiting for a court verdict.

On top of the eight vessels, the ministry has also disclosed the confiscation of MV Hai Fa, the biggest ship the ministry has ever captured.

The ministry seized the 4,306 gross ton (GT) tramp service ship under the suspicion that it was conducting illicit practices in Indonesian territorial waters. It was confiscated with the help of the Navy on Dec. 27.

The MV Hai Fa’s 24 crew members, all Chinese nationals, were caught with 900.7 tons of frozen fish and prawns, as well as 66 tons of hammerhead sharks and oceanic white tip sharks.

“The tramp service vessel is from China. It was chartered by Indonesian fisheries companies to export its cargo to China. In terms of sailing legality, it is legal. But in practice it has been incompliant with Indonesian law,” said Alina.

Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti has indicated that she would not sink the ship should the court rule it guilty.

“I would use its cold storage capacity to collect the catches of fishermen and transport the cargo to fish processing plants in the eastern regions,” Susi said.

Indonesia will sink more of our boats if we go fishing in their neighborhood. I can't watch how they kill more of us.

Unlike China, Malaysia and Vietnam, Indonesia is not an export driven economic Countries (the countries who solely depend on surplus in International trade to run their economic and ensuring their economic growths at home), so TTP is not a concern for us. Basically our largest contributor for economic growth is Domestic Consumption.

This is a misconception that people have, you see those stories how China is export driven and thus bad, while American, Japanese domestic consumption and thus good.

It is true we are switching to a more domestic consumption economy, but only because we had the export led economy for so long, like Japan, like America before.

What can Indonesians afford? Not much, you don't have the per capita income to support it, even China at twice your per capita can barely support it.

Export driven growth is the only way to pull enough people out of poverty and make domestic consumption meaningful, African countries are mostly domestic consumption, doesn't mean anything other than they have nothing to export, not saying this is Indonesia, but there's two sides to every story, what might be good for US would not be good for others, if they are at different stages.

.
Domestic consumption driven economy is a fake idea from propaganda machine. You go to work, you sell your time and labour. The only income for human, be it nations or group of human or individuals, is from sale. How can one believe to get rich by eating more and consuming more? profit=income-consumption. It is a math for grade 3 student.

According to the estimates, due to lower oil prices, China will have saved about 100billion USD in the next six months.

What China "saves" from the oil crisis in six months is more than half our your entire GDP.
