What's new

India’s trade deficit with China jumps to $53 billion in 2015-2016

I have never seen any Pakistani mango in local grocery or supermarket.
Even in the online giant Taobao.com, only dry mango from Pakistan can be found.
Probably it's easier to find in Xinjiang and other Northeast China provinces.
The link #21 provides shows a very good example how mangos from Pakistan can penetrate into China's huge online market. It is said that from 5 August, mangos will be dispatched to customers around China by air.
The current Sino-Pakistan highway is not in very good condition, especially in Pakistan's side.
Upgrading project is urgent!

I think it's PS.
Address, quality labels, etc, all wrong.

Pakistan and China signed protocol document in 2013 for export of mangoes. Trade volume is definitely low. Mango has short life after being picked. Just about 30 days after treatment, processing and packaging. Pakistani farmers need help in modern fruit processing, packaging and transportation techniques. Perhaps a Chinese investor can make lots of money if he sets up food processing and packaging units in mango growing regions of Pakistan.

Pakistan is 4th largest exporter of mangoes and is ahead of India in mango exports although mango production in India is 8 times higher than Pakistan. In 2012, EU banned imports of mangoes from India after fruit fly infections and spots were found. This gave Pakistani mango export an opening. As result Pakistani mangoes are mostly exported to US, EU, UK, Middle East and Afghanistan. Xinjiang gets a small share.

I agree with you, China is a good market for mango exports. Potential is huge and I have yet to see anyone dislike Pakistani mangoes. Hillary Clinton on her visit was served with mangoes and she went crazy about Pakistani mangoes. She repeatedly mentioned Pakistani mangoes export to US as something she would like to see.

You can export as many mangos as you want to China.
China's domestic fruit market is second to none....
We just need to make the logistics better, then mangos will come!

lol, an ignorant Indian ranting about standards and quality````, Chinese goods arent going to destroy anything in primitive India, yeah, we somehow 'stole' US industry with relative cheap goods, but you factor driven India has nothing, cant make a quality screw to be honest````

p.s without Chinese machine tools, electronic bits and bots half of your companies have to shut-down````oh, btw, your so-called Indian mobile phone makers are basically re-branding Chinese mobiles, and claiming its own 'ingeniousness'

p.s.s your labour cost is 1/4 of China's so better start working to 'fight' back ``

p.s.s Chinese goods are among the top if not best```of cause you cheap Indian can only have cheap ones, but still better than anything primitive India can offer`` fact
Of course they can't afford our DJI drones, Bill Gates has one.
The best commercial drones every drone lover dreams of!
But they can surely buy the cheaper one from US.

@GS Zhou Any plan to buy the new model?

China is investing huge on chips and machinery.
I'm very confident we are catching up at an unprecedented speed.
But there is a long way to go.

10 years ago, we would never expect we could export tunnel boring machines.

BEIJING: China's largest ever double-shied tunnel boring machine (TBM) has rolled off the assembly line in Wuhan and will soon be exported to India.

The TBM, at 9.86 metres in diameter and 150 metres in length, was made by China Railway Science and Industry Group Co., the People's Daily reported on Thursday.

The first exported to Singapore TBM of NHI passed the factory acceptance

How about US? are they the largest creditor nation?
Bro, you don't have to tell them so much, the funny thing is those TBMs are also exported to Indy.

Well, TBMs are extremely high value-added.....
Developing countries will need a lot of TBMs if they want to build subways.

It's a very promising industry in China!

Indeed, it's not a problem in China.
But we need to help improve logistics abroad.

Growing mangos is a huge business in China.
On the island of Hainan, there is a farm, in which a lot of farmers earn one million yuan per year ($150k)!!!

Not just farmers, everyone involved in the business which is facilitated by China's booming E-commerce, can easily make a fortune!

Of course, the process is being standardised.
How to pick, when to pick, how to package, how to deliver, how to distribute, is all about standards!
To make a fortune in China, stick to agricultural standards.

@Paksanity @The Sandman @waz @PaklovesTurkiye Growing mangos makes farmers rich (not just well-off but really really rich in China). I hope there are some joint projects in Pakistan, to build modern farms and modern delivery system, with the immense power of China's online market, it's very easy to make money!

Watch the show, fruit party.

On topic..
Stop all the cheap imports by banning them, WTO or no WTO. China has ruined US economy with exports and the financial muscle. They are able to dominate the market as it is a communist country with cheap labour and cost government can indirectly subsidise. For such countries WTO is a boon as they can dump things in the market quoting free trade policies. Do not allow Chinese imports if they do not meet a minimum international standards.

Hmmm not even comparable..

It should be noted that in China, a mandatory welfare payment is added to the minimum wage as paid by the employer and this typically adds an average 30 percent to 50 percent on top of the minimum wage identified above. India does not levy a uniform welfare payment upon salaries, and this can either be discounted completely or is a typical maximum of 10 percent of wages.

Lol.. is that comparable, with same size of population, china is five time, economically that of india, that means china will have 5time per capita, approx. So Chinese are earnings more and paying more that all. So if you want to compare compare indian wage, make it 5 times and see whe pay more and who less. Inflation rate in india is way higher than that of china, another problem.

The members in this thread ... eating too many mangoes ... most about mango sell & buy

China itself is 2nd largest producer of mangoes, why does it import.. or am i wrong. o_O
