The official emphasized that India will not be involved in any construction activity in Chabahar, adding that it was only to provide dock equipment at the key port.

Dock equipment? $85 million? I am interested in what companies are providing these in the deal, please share details if you get any, thanks!

Iran says it welcomes China’s investments in the development of Chabahar port in its southeastern Sistant-and-Baluchestan province

PressTV-Iran wants China in Chabahar port project

I believe China can add value to the project:
  • On port design, construction & equipment, Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery Corp (ZPMC) is the world's dominant port tech/machinery provider, supplying 78% of global demand on cranes/equipment. ZPMC is the leading supplier in port tech by far, has signed contract to build the 1st Fully Automated Port in Qingdao (青岛). Other than Chinese ports, prospects for this Sustainable Integrated Next Generation Advanced (SINGA) Port concept include Busan (South Korea), Dubai, Singapore and hopefully Colombo.
  • Many mega-sized engineering companies can offer service, say China Harbour Engineering Corp (CHEC), China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC; Ranked 187th in 2014 Fortune 500), which have credentials in building the world's best, largest mega-infrastructures.
  • On logistics, there are many mega operators from China Mainland (China Merchants, COSCO, CHEC, etc.). Other than China, Iran may talk to other global powerhouses from Hong Kong (Hutchison Whampoa), Taiwan (Evergreen Group), Singapore (PSA Int'l), Netherlands (APM), UAE (DP World), South Korea (Hanjin Group) or Japan (JICA).
  • For value-adding investment & ecosystem (industries, energy plants, infrastructure & defence along the port value chain) building, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and many Sovereign Welfare Funds (over $1.5 trillions in asset) are among some from China that are excellent co-investors.
  • Last but not least, China can offer experience in managing ports, home and across the globe. In 2013, Chinese home ports handled close to 200,000,000 TEU of container traffic, almost doubles that of Korea-Germany-Japan-US combined. Shanghai is the world #1 port, and 7 out of world's top 10 are also in China.

Huh? You think the Indian Express knows more about it than PressTV which is Iran's own government media channel?

I'd love to know how you came to that conclusion.

Criticizes a member for the 'source' of the news ... starts quoting 'Indian express' as an answer ....:rofl::rofl:

Do you even read what you write ??? ... review your first post .... for some reason -- you forgot that "press-Tv" in its report was quoting "Mohammad Saeed-Nejad, the managing director of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO)"

and your criticism was what ???

press TV ?? try harder

Yet if we criticize you using Indian express under the same criterion + the fact that it was 4 months ago .... well I won't call you any names ... but , I guess this will help with your condition ...
