Featured India’s Test of Hypersonic missile and implications for Pakistan

My argument was always about Ramjet which you missed. Being light was mentioned in context of the missile being powered by Ramjet.

No that was answered, Ramjets can be effective up to Mach 4. I even gave you an example of such missiles and there’s more.

.
Huh what? You boasted about the incredible intercept capabilities of the Barak and I showed you where in practical terms it performed well under par.
If it makes you feel happy accepting what the Israelis stated for their reason for failure then that's up to you, most of the world isn't so naive.
Of course Barak-8 was tested later, but still developed from it's predecessors.
Israel has good weapons, but the unusual part of your post is that you state that Chinese weapons are totally unproven, even though in this case a Chinese system beat an Israeli one.....

Not to mention how the supposedly mighty Israeli air defense systems failed on feb 27th 2019.

Indeed. Thats why I said, this missle cann't be flying at Mach 5 through out its flight profile if it is using Ramjet. I have seen it elsewhere as well, the missile is indeed having 5 mach no only during dive.

It did not fail because it shot down an Indian chopper.
Indeed. Both the operator and pilot of helicopter were idiots not to take the standard protection. Helicoper missed turning IFF responder on and operator missed confirming any friendlies in the airspace.

The system worked perfectly, the users failed miserably. Both helicopter pilot and operator at air defence. Good thing that incompetent pilot went roast and operator was court martial'ed.

.
Not sure if a destroyer can avoid such a missile.
Pretty sure this missile cann't hit a destroyer otherwise the marketing pitch would be signing about it. They only mentioned carrier.

The missile is only fit to hit stationary targets or slow moving targets, hence non maneuverable. What do you expect out of a quasi-ballistic missile anyways.

The system worked perfectly being jammed and mistaking its own assets as enemy and in the process leading to the death of 6 Indians. Worked perfectly, indeed.

Nope, there is no evidence that system was jammed. Infact that place was quite far off. What got jammed were Mig and Sukhoi's communication systems. Infact, had that system jammed, it would have missed. It did not.

Besides, Barak 8 is a totally different system from SPYDER. Why are you even mentioning SPYDER in context of Barak - 8?

This week India tested its first hypersonic missile. Traveling at extreme speeds with unpredictable flight patterns, hypersonic missiles have the potential to destabilize the strategic balance in South Asia, in ways not seen since India’s test of the nuclear bomb in 1972. Recent discussions on India has centered around New Delhi’s acquisition of the Rafale aircrafts. But these Rafale aircrafts don’t substantially alter the balance between the two air forces. The hypersonic missile tested by India has far-reaching implications for Pakistan.

“Pakistan is not known to have an indigenous hypersonic development program. Moreover, if China, Russia, and the United States reach an agreement on the issue, then there are more chances of avoiding a possible regional hypersonic rivalry in South Asia by making India part of the agreement.”

They have tested a demonstrator not a missile huge difference... having an engine/motor of a missile which flew for 14 seconds doesn't make it a missile they much more to make is a working missile

Both overrated Israeli tech.

That in and of itself is a major achievement. I am not sure why you would want to discount that.

This is just Indian propaganda. There are three main problems with hypersonic missiles.Heat-resistant materials, space reconnaissance system, scramjet.

China’s lead in hypersonic speed is mainly because it leads the United States in heat-resistant materials.Scramjet is a more difficult technology. The Indians skipped all front-end technology and directly used the more difficult scramjet.

Typical indian.8-)8-)8-)

Infact, India has 2 hypersonic program. One is the program of ISRO who has tested hypersonic program a long back. Enemy warships will find it very difficult to counter it even with laser. This is a game changer technology of next generation. It puts India in top list of countries having such Technology. Hypersonic technology is not new for India. We have tested Shaurya and k series missiles 2 decades ago. So we know how to handle them. This vehicle just uses scramjet engine for that speed. That is the only difference.
