This week India tested its first hypersonic missile. Traveling at extreme speeds with unpredictable flight patterns, hypersonic missiles have the potential to destabilize the strategic balance in South Asia, in ways not seen since India’s test of the nuclear bomb in 1972. Recent discussions on India has centered around New Delhi’s acquisition of the Rafale aircrafts. But these Rafale aircrafts don’t substantially alter the balance between the two air forces. The hypersonic missile tested by India has far-reaching implications for Pakistan.

“Pakistan is not known to have an indigenous hypersonic development program. Moreover, if China, Russia, and the United States reach an agreement on the issue, then there are more chances of avoiding a possible regional hypersonic rivalry in South Asia by making India part of the agreement.”

Enemy always opens ways for us to answer in similar way.we will respond by using any means to counter this threat too_Obviously, it is the matter of of our survival.

Pakistan should pursue the tech, make it, and don't test it publicly. Let India reveal all her cards. The Chinese are on India's border and it needs to do these things to make its populace feel safe. I hope India and all her allies keep using Pakistan as its yardstick in strategic policy.

Pak definitely will be putting countermeasures. Turkey is also working on hypersonic missiles. China has advanced programs in this regard too. At the end of the day it's the will to embark on the escalation ladder to afford the losses....

Pak has repeatedly demonstrated she has the infinite capacity to take the pains when and where her survival is concerned. And, it is manifested in not being in the same condition as that of the Muslims in India, who curse the births and celebrate the deaths....

India did not test a missile. It tested only a tech demonstrator. It will take quite sometime before this tech demonstrator can become a missile.

pakistani policy makers are incompetent, when western companies started moving into india to make it a viable option against china, then at the same time all the necessary tech started flowing into india.
bunch of fools pakistani policy makers are, 1972 nuke explosion was with a green signal from the west, tech provided by the west and russia at the same time..
Hasb e Allah he wa namal wakeel... repeat it again and again so u will learn to rely on him and only him, work hard to defend yourself

The hypersonic CM which can result from Indian test is a speciality weapon. Its purpose is to dominate seas and deny access to territorial waters as it can easily defeat all the currently deployed AADs. Pakistan's navy is minuscule and its not even a threat to Indian navy, which fields among other things SSNs, SSKs, SSBNs, ACs, Destroyers in relatively large numbers.

Most of Indo Pak war is centred around armour push, troop movements, air superiority, close air support and air defence. In all these areas, this particular technology brings nothing new on the table and costs much more. In all such usecases, ballistic missiles with conventional warheads, supersonic cruise missiles, stealth cruise missiles and ALCM and SS ALCMs are already enough. Pakistan does not have counters to a number of those threats even on paper, so this new weapon bring no edge to India vis-a-vis Pakistan. Meaning, if India were to attack (and thats a big IF), Pakistan will most likely face Indian battle theatre ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and SoWs. For high valued targets, Supersonic CMs and Super Sonic ALCMs will be used. With no counters to these, hypersonic weapons do not even factor into that equation -- its a waste of money.
