India’s Rustam 2 drone is a big worry for Pakistan; here is why

Burraq & Shahpar has nothing to do with India - Pakistan, but can be used in terrorist areas... But Rustom 2 will add some unique capabilities in India's favour against Pakistan...
That's an illogical comment. Everything Pakistan procure or make has everything to do with India. Wing Loong is a MALE UAV, operational with certain middle eastern militaries (and now Pakistan) and they've been used excessively with highly favourable results. I don't see a reason why Pakistani UAVs and UCAVs possess no threat to India (UCAVs that have been in service for half a decade now) but an Indian UAV that just took off is threatening Pakistan already. I would really appreciate more than a one liner.

Rumours of the presence of wing loong in PAF base already ringed alarms in New Delhi... But any news of its acquisition byPAF is not came out in public yet... If any official news come out, India may also make sysu statements...
It's premature to compare these two... But with limited knowledge out there...capability wise Rustom 2 is better than Wing loong... Especially service ceiling and payload...

Pakistan today voiced its concern over the development of sophisticated drone technology by India, describing it as “worrying”. Foreign Office spokesman Mohammad Faisal was asked at the weekly media briefing to comment on India’s Rustam 2 which was being developed on the lines of the US predator drones for surveillance and reconnaissance purposes. “India’s development of drone technology is worrying when seen in the larger context of its buildup and expansion of military capabilities in the conventional and non-conventional domains, which are subjecting regional strategic stability to increasing strain,” he said. He also said that the use of drone technology should be consistent with the principles of the UN Charter, international humanitarian law and other established norms of responsible state behavior.

He also lambasted a decision by the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA) to uphold ban on Pakistan actors and artists as “yet another evidence of pervading extremism and anti-Pakistan prejudice in India”. “It is unfortunate that art and cinema which bring people together by acting as cultural bridges are being held hostage to hate and xenophobia,” he said. Faisal said that the decision to ban artists followed several others, “including non-issuance of visas to Pakistani pilgrims, refusal to allow participation of Sikhs and Katas raj pilgrims and cancellation of sports matches underscores the growing intolerance and bias prevalent in India exposing it of the sham-ocracy it is increasingly becoming.”

To a question that the Foreign Secretaries of Pakistan and India are likely to meet on the sidelines of Kabul Process in Afghanistan, he said, “No such meeting has been envisaged.” To another question about Indian media reported that Indian Foreign Secretary may visit Pakistan in the upcoming days, he said, “I am not aware of any such visit.” But to a question about India and Pakistan plan for an agreement involving the exchange of elderly, mentally challenged and female prisoners, Faisal said, “the proposal is being examined by the Ministry of Interior.”

Faisal also said that India’s “belligerent posture” along LoC and the Working Boundary has implications for not only Pakistan but also the region. “Pakistan continues to give a measured and befitting response to the Indian ceasefire violations. It is regrettable that India resorts to such untoward acts that are detrimental to the peace and stability of the entire region,” he said. Faisal also said that India had a knee jerk tendency of leveling baseless allegations against Pakistan.

Why it is always like that Indians develop something and they thing it is worried someone? India is not that important and we already have this technology very long back. Enjoy your achievements and don't think that anyone of us is worried. There is nothing to worried about from anywhere in this world

Rustom 2 has 24 hours endurance. It is new for Indian subcontinant. Pakistan has reasons to fear. They can expect more surgical strikes.

We never asked you to backup garbage your country man posted.

MQ-1 Predator, which according to Indians Rustom-2 is reaching in capabilities flew in 1995.
Rustom-2 is powered by 2 × NPO-Saturn 36MT engines giving it output power of 73.55 kW or about 100Hp.At best it would be carrying total payload of 350 to 400kg.
Pakistan has 2 drones operatioal in that class Burraq and Falco, both of them are armed and are in operational service for long time.
According to unoffical reports Pakistan is also fielding Wing Loon 2 UCAV,anything like that India can only dream of.

First atleast field a operational system at level of Burraq UCAV,then come and ask for backup.
and don't forget project azm. It includes a drone too.

If Pak folks have ay "qualms" about the Indian drones, please check out the Turkish armed - ANKA, Bayraktar etc. According to the knowledgeable PDF members considerable Pak input is already there at the first place....
