I am not Down on DRDO but i m sure Its a complete Pipe dream to even compare it with "Predator" .

We can learn a thing or two about Humility the way Chinese unveil their weapons ( i am not talking about their members on this site though) .

And how the way chinease unveil their shady weapon images is humility? Comparison with predator is in terms of size and wing span. It is obvious to compare a product with what is already available out there in the same class.

So much inferiority complex. If DRDO says they are working on a drone that is in the class of predator, you take it as making fun of predator? how dare desi scientist even dream to make a drone in the class of of the great god predator?

Desi scientists should first make something which is extremely successful in reconnaissance and at par with U.S. e.g. something like global hawk , then think about predator .

Dreaming is all they do , so i have no doubt about their imagination capabilities . Manufacturing something like that is a different ball game altogether .

And if realistic POV is Inferiority Complex for you let it be .

Global Hawk is a HALE UAV. Why would the development of that UAV have any effect whatsoever on the development of a MALE UCAV?

When you don't even have one globally accepted UAV , which can compete at global levels , i find first we should have something for reconnaissance at that level before thinking of a "armed drone" like predator .

I hope you do understand that global hawk is far advanced than predator. So DRDO only dreams? AKASH, AGNI, ARJUN, LCA UAV Nishant and Rustom 1 are all only dreams?

Manufacturing predator is far easier than manufacturing LCA. Major difficult part is autonomous take off and landing that too has been successfully demonstrated in Rustom-1 UAV. DRDO has most of the technologies and what is now required is integrating these technologies into a product. All this because of the LCA program that has given us a basic lauch pad to reach for future goals.

Maybe that is why DRDO oficial keep bringing in Predator . Regarding culture of fostering indigenous technology i agree with you .

Just stating is not Chest thumping , STating again and again is . And no i am not talking about you, I am talking about DRDO . LCA programme is a prime example why you should what , have a prototype flying and then release the news . even U.S. defence manufacturers are very silent on what they do .
