India’s manned space mission, not in near future … or never?

Never. India will dream their way to manned space mission.

Well, I believe India will eventually send their own astronauts in their own space crafts to space. But judging from the ground reality, it will not happen in foreseeable future, and certainly not according to ISRO's current "schedule".

This has been their problems in project management for long time. They don't have any concrete executable plan yet, and have not taken any solid step towards their goals, but their government officers have the big nerve to announce grandeur PLANS after PLANS with outrageous schedules to the public, and whole nation would then go frenzy and believe their "superpower" status is imminent.

They have done this over and over again, and the public never seem to be bored of this way of comforting and amusement. They are so used to this "Indian Scheduling" that once in a blue moon on-time success such as MOM, would be treated as the proof of the arrival of a "Super Power", and every Indian members is eager to bring up this example to illustrate India's superiority. If you dare to question their project management ability, there will be gangs of internet warriors to troll you to death. That is their way of defending "the honor of motherland".

I just wish our Indian friends could be more critical to their government organizations' mischief, rather than to defend indefensible. After all, India is a democracy, and every government officers should be held accountable.

Most 'Indians' are illiterate, its easy for their regime to con them. If the regime says 'India' is a superpower, the brainwashed fools will come on the internet and brag how 'India' is a superpower.

First thing 'India' must do for self-improvement is stop bragging non-achievements, if they already think they are a 'superpower' (while the rest of the world knows 'India' is a 3rd world poverty stricken 'country'), there is no need for improvement.

Kalam the clown said 'India' will be a superpower by 2012, the entire 'Indian' population believed that clown.

Well, PDF Indian's are not illiterates, you would have thought they were more open-minded. In a democratic society with a vibrant free press, I thought they would have developed critical thinking among them. "Open society with a closed mind", just like an Indian scholar said 20 years ago?

when the time comes to 2021, then they will come-up with other pathetic excuses, like 'changing of requirements' so 'rescheduled' to 2025, and then 2030, and so on...........

come-on guys, this is a brag much nation, dont take their words seriously

India will have its local GPS by July 2016. India has limited funds. It is doing what is best for its country.
India cant just waste 2 bill $ for bragging rights. It will soon have the humane safe launch vehicle in a year or so. It could have easily turned PSLV into humane safe SLV but there were no funds issues for it.
India needs to focus on communication system. It is short of 200 transponders and ISRO is fully occupied with GSLV MKIII launched, Moon rover mission.

India is short of funds. It should tie up with other asean country such as South korea. They can co-finance the Indian manned space program. India is about to license PSLV tech to Indian private sector companies who can then co-partner with south korea. There are many areas of parnership South korea can offer to India. If they can set up a fab in India then India wont mind giving them entire TOT to one of the launch vehicle.

You just have to give credit to Indians for their optimism, they will be happy as long as you keep giving them a new "dead line". Chinese should really learn from them.
