India's IT Exports to US Wildly Exaggerated

IT services are not counted among exports, its quite logical, but then again i am quoting the post of a.......... :D

damn... you ruined it for me....

So it's oil (Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and UAE) and gold (Switzerland, SA etc) and the assorted cr@p from China that's causing our fiscal deficit.

I would not having exports that are competitive enough.

So cheap some people are on this thread....for anything india does or is about india or is in india..even if somebody says "hey india wassup"..they will bring up how many there are starving in india......losers to the core....poor account 49% of pakistan's population and 54% of india's population..both the countries face the same problem....and we have to manage a country with huge regional differences.....still .....

Get a life losers....at least one country in SA is doing something in various fields like IT, auto industries, space, etc, etc..at the same time trying its best to eradicate poverty, illiteracy, etc, etc though being a member of G20 and BRICS....

Not just AK-47s and RPGs; they also have nukes.

And the fact is that India has starved its people-over 7000 Indians die of hunger every day-not Pakistan to build nukes.

If India really exported so much IT to the US, then their current account deficit wouldn't be so atrociously high.

Thanks for the $40 billion every year though, that's a big trade deficit for India. :P

Whatever methodology Indians are using or used in past, thing is they are getting billions $$ in their country. At the end of the day it doesn't matter how it is reported.

Anyone has latest statistics on Pakistan's IT exports?

It goes both ways, your cheap electronics, computers, and phones have reached a huge mass of India's population because of the price - which wouldn't have been possible if there was no china and it's exports.

Chinese companies like Lenovo (the number 1 PC maker in the world) are also the top of the Indian PC market.

Can't you make a computer/laptop/tablet by yourself? Why allow foreign companies like Lenovo, HP (soon to be part of Lenovo) and Dell to dominate your domestic markets?

In fact we dominate the market for pretty much all manufactured goods. No wonder India has such an enormous trade deficit to us.

What Chinese electronics and machinery exports have in fact done is reduced our electronics and manufacturing bill by a huge huge amount. For a single E.g. Imagine laying country wide cables, nodes, servers, routers etc from products imported from the US or the EU? we have been able to do a large part of our modernization at 1/10th the cost. It doesn't take much to enforce export restrictions - especially in India, but when one weighs in the benefits which apparently is much higher in value to the trade deficit then better sense prevails

If you ever had an iota of Idea on how much percentage of Indians are working in US IT Industry. Have you ever visited US and worked in IT space? I am working here in IT and have visibility of where and how Indians are involved in everywhere. There is total domination in this space, there are locals but we are the majority. Also, spend sometime to find out how many companies here have outsourced development and maintenance to India.

If you visit Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai and Chennai. You will realize how massive IT parks and how many people work there.

Please do not talk of subject you have no idea of, like you use to talk about Maoist and then never answered my questions. I am sure on paper you can prove that Pakistan is giving aid to USA, its other thing you are generally disconnected to ground reality and this is not a surprise.

Better way is to refute allegation with logic

.............In theory, India follows what is known as BPM 6 (MSITS) reporting method for software and information-enabled technology services (ITES) which counts sales to all multinationals, earning of overseas offices, salaries of non-immigrant overseas workers as India's exports. In practice, India violates it. BPM 6 allows the salaries of first year ofmigrant workers to be included in a country's service exports. India continuously and cumulatively adds all the earnings of its migrants to US in its software exports...................This raises serious questions about the accuracy of India's claims of $60 billion to $70 billion IT software and service exports being currently reported. If the 20X exaggeration still persists, the Indian IT exports could be as little as $3 billion to $4 billion today based on the US methodology..........

I live in Bangalore....my building alone has 5000 people working in IT, and hell we are nowhere near electronic city, which is the true heart of IT in Bangalore. We spend 1 crore per month on the cab service that transports people from office to back. This is not including Chennai, Hyderabad etc. Infosys has revenues in the range of 8 B...if you are wanting that Indian IT is puffed air, that is your prerogative, as for the rest, as long as you don't strengthen and depend upon us to be weak, anything you believe is just fine with us. :smokin:
