It's not developed by Indians. It was announced by an American startup company Mammoth Biosciences specializing in CRISPR based detection tests last month. The indians probably replicated the method, although it's accuracy is yet to be proven because there has been no update regarding the tests since it's announcement last month. America is hard hit and hard pressed on fighting the pandemic and yet FDA hasn't approved the test yet which implies that there is something lacking in the tests for it to be fast tracked for approval like other tests.
