How will you compare society? Do you mean to say Han people are better than people of the Indian subcontinent? Or our society is not as strong as China's just because of our race or location? I'm not sure what you mean chart is comparable but not society please explain will love to learn.
India is not a nation state, as we all knew.
- The Hindustanis are only 40% of India population. The Southerners, Dravidians, have no race/linguistic connection with Hindustanis.
- Even the so-called Hindustani is not a race at all, it's a culture concept at best.
- While the upper caste of India are not local neither, most of them come from somewhere around Central Asia.
- India is a land purged by Aryan or whatever race come from Central Asia.
China, by and large, is homogeneous.
- Minority are assimilated, or will be assimilated sooner or later.
- Han is a cultural concept actually, not a race biologically.
- Han looks like a race, just because of thousands of years of assimilation and Sinicization.
India is going through the process China went through in the past thousands of years, but it takes time.
I buy your point about US history, but more importantly, no country will fight a war for someone else, did China fight with India for Pakistan when we occupied half of it and a new country was formed? War is a way to control the economy of the world, assert domination and decide the fate of the world. And as China will rise it will need to dictate its will on the world and will need to influence the world with muscle and soft power. It is already doing it a lot.
China fought for North Korea, and partly involved directly in Vietnam War.
China threatened India once in 1965 during India-Pakistan war, 3 years after 1962 war.
Other countries can fight war for someone else, as long as it suit their own interest. NATO is an example.
China is a realist, so is India.
But if you think reasonably, the US is able to project power easily because at its home turf there is no threat. Canada and Mexico, UK are allies. Do you think it's good for China's ambition to have a bad relationship with India?
U.S. is a big island. U.S. can project power, because U.S. is stronger, but it was not the case in past thousands of years, while China was the dominance power in East Asia.
Once China rise, U.S. will have to back off, willingly or unwillingly.
India want to play the U.S. card, go ahead. There is Himalaya between 2 countries, China never worried India's invasion decades ago.
If one is allowed to dream: India and China solve their border issues. China supports the Indian position wrt Kashmir reduces its ties with Pakistan, and builds them with India. India supports China's position wrt Taiwan/South China Sea/other issues. India reduces its ties with the US and builds them with China. China replaces the US and India replaces the UK in the world order. China and India control the world economy, China with its manufacturing might, and India builds a service economy.
Eventually, India and Pakistan solve their Kashmir issue and the South East is very similar to the EU block with peace and progress all around. East is United and it's west vs east now. Maybe I dreamt a little too much
There are a lot of deals you mentioned.
Some deals can be made, some can't. China has Taiwan, South China Sea under control. Taiwan is not U.S. card, you may be misled by media, Taiwan is China's card. So is South China Sea.
Most of the deal can't be made due to political reasons.
The future of India is uncertain. We actually don't know how far India can go, how long India can sustain. I am not saying India will collapse, but there is quite a bit of uncertainty.
