What's new

India's AMCA 5th Gen Stealth Fighter Project could be completed in 2019

.
It's hilarious how they think it's good idea. So, they want to put all this into one basket.

HAL control the production and support of both programs. Why?

Let there be two different production agencies for two separate programs.

Agreed mate. I like Chineese & Russian model. Two competing PSUs, keeping each other in edge.

.
I feel sad for Indians. You guys don't have confidence on your own countries plane research and design agency. I for one think India may be able to roll out AMCA by 2019 or 2020. If not by 2023-2025. If India get a lot of foreign help. The key is to not be prideful and get help when needed. And don't be overtly ambitious. Than India can come up with a plane in a few years.

.
We need to keep up the pace and produce the first prototype early

.
Aero India 2019 is going to be fun.

I personally think the idea is possible. As you see many of the subsystems are already developed. They are not linking the project to the engine either.

1. The TD or Proto will fly with a foreign non stealth engine. With less thrust. Just like Sukhoi T-50
2. Radar Fusion components are ready. Software is also ready. Testing will be done separately. This is a monumental task. India has not done this so far.
3. K10 Engine will be ready no matter what.
4. The K10 engine WITH stealth thrust vectoring from Kilmov contract was signed 2 years back.

So yeas, the timelines are feasible.

HAL/ADA knows that the procurement landscape has changed. It does not matter if the government changes or not now.

.
Both Korean, KAI, and Turkish, TAI started out producing F16s locally, now they are moving on to producing 5th generation programs of their own. Please tell me why this very same thing cant be implemented with TATAs, Mahindras, Reliance? All of them have the ambition, but it's India that keeps holding them back.

I just don't see HAL managing two completely different 5th gen programs as the optimal solution.

Boeing has offered a similar path, with the modern assembly line under the private sector. I think however, SAAB, can offer something similar for the single engine M.I.I.

.
We recently contacted our source in HAL who is working with AMCA project, and we asked him about the comments made by ADA Chief recently about the timeline. He said that 2025 is the timeline given which is correct but what our “so-called’ journalists forgot to mention was that 2025 was not initial year but actually was the deadline given by MoD to ADA to make AMCA operational within the force. Though he said that AMCA’s Naval variant won’t come before 2025 (prototype). But the main AMCA variant which is meant for Air-Force is definitely coming in 2019 as a prototype for it’s first flight.

ADA modified the designs of AMCA which is the final design stage.

Now ADA-HAL is making 1:1 Model of AMCA for various tests related to stealthiness which would happen before the end of this year. This test will be the final procedure of AMCA before building it’s prototype which would start from 2018.

We also tried to get status of all component’s development and we succeeded. Here’s the update of AMCA’s component’s current status:

No.~ Item ~ Status~ Since~ ETA
1~ Design ~ Done~ 2008 ~ ~2017
2 ~Stealth ~ Done~ 2010 ~ ~ 2017
3 ~Composites ~Ongoing~ 2010 ~2017
4 ~Control ~Ongoing~ 2015 ~2018
5 ~Engine ~Ongoing~ 2017 ~2020
6 ~Avionics ~Ongoing~ 2013 ~2018
7 ~Equipment ~Ongoing~ 2013 ~2018
8 ~Radar ~Ongoing~ 2015 ~2019+
9 ~Sensors ~Ongoing~ 2015 ~2018

pure BS. the loud mouth chuckers at HAL barking again. the Bon of Sitches could hardly make LCA MK1A by 2019.

let them come uip with LCA Mk1A first. HAL and their promise . My fart is more promising.

bakvas, only design in final stage not even complete, engine, aviation, radar, stealth coting are long way to go
lol, technology which is developed will use by both LCA / AMCA, like composite developed for LCA will be used in AMCA,

Radar developed for LCA , will be used in AMCA.

LCA was the learning for a design Team ....

Let me give you example, team which designed the LCA is haveing no work other sitting Ideal OR Design New plane and do model testing.

The main problem which Design team learned from LCA, is the placement of LRU's . In LCA 1A, the position of LRU's are change for easy access for replacement / service.

Now the Same learning is applied in the AMCA project since beginning.

The Technology will be shared both by AMCA and LCA , like Radar etc.

Then amca will be gen4 fighter with low observability if at all we are using same radar. What we need is a LPI aesa radar.

with the Radar technology is maturing fast in India , next stage is GaN based radar.

if pudding making is so easy , evey country will be making it , and it would have been flying from turkey to SK.
then HAL should shut their mouth up and make pudding. why barking about cake while making pudding.
