Have you seen the op and the posts ? Actually these posts give Indian fence sitters a good reality check . I am not complaining . Just taking a snapshot and circulating in various whattsapp groups.

Do you know in the outside world that if you say you are an Indian, a lot of people will simply assume that you are a Muslim. After all India does have the 2nd largest Muslim population in the world.

Similar to how if someone sees a Korean they are likely to simply assume that they are Chinese or Japanese. Or vice versa. The human mind is prone to stereotyping due to compartmentalization of information, it's just easier.

I often have to correct a lot of people by telling them that India is in fact majority Hindu. And that Hindus avoid eating beef while Muslims+Jews avoid eating pork.

This is what happens when the foundation of one's country is based on hate. I once went to Cornell, Ithaca and there was a supposedly "Indian Restaurant" near to my hotel. The food was awful with no regards to hygiene. I asked the guy at the counter, from which place he came from India. The guy said Punjab and I asked him from which city in Punjab. The guy sheepishly said that actually from Pakistani Punjab but here everyone is Indian, we are one people. I smiled and when I left I did leave a tip for him. This is how these people introduce themselves here in US.
