Nearly all hate crimes against Indians in the US are cases of mistaken identity where the underlying cause was anger against terrorists / middle-east.

Does that justify such actions - no. Does it justify supporting such behaviour - of course not.

Nonetheless this reveals rising Islamophobia in the US - and clearly the reasons have very little to do with H1B visas.
