What are the views of Indians on this? Mine were mixed in the sense that I felt sorry for them after all the work they had done trying to get to AUS, but then you are throwing yourselves at the Aussies and hoping for the best.
The changes that have come in have also happened in NZ, and stem from the fear of skilled labour which brings about large numbers of migrants to settle there.

They make no excuse for it either by calling it the "Australia first" policy.
I think the silver lining in this is that India will benefit far more from having its best brains stay. Pakistan had suffered years of this until the giving of a visa to a Pakistani national became fraught with difficulties.
