CBU's will see the maximum price difference... not so much for the CKU's.
Hey!!! Thats my car
all euiropeans cars i guess, thats why it can hurt the domestic market because the bmw and merc c class will get a lot lot cheaper, costing less than Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara...amazing really
There's not heavy demand for cars priced above 20 lakhs, but huge demand for fuel efficient sub 5 lakhs cars, and i don't think they'll import them as CBU here. So they'll continue to invest in that sector to tap that sector. That is so bad because it will stop the flow of investment of billions of dollar into India as well as tech transfer as all of the major automobile manufacturers are rushing India for Investment but this move will stop them.
As they can manufacture their cars in their existing plants else where and sell their cars in India at cheaper prices.
It wont happen may be they reduce the tax but taxes would be there at any cost if they remove the tax companies wont be intrested. In seting up there manufacturing units they will just export them from europe
as long as your gov gives full backing to your car industry, then this should be good for consumers as well as your car industry. because this competition will force indian car industry to make extra efforts to produce better and cheaper cars.
One problem , where will you drive em ?
The BMW 7 series will have kids and adults wanting all to touch it and the car will get scratches and bumps from motor cycles and rickshaws and occasional cows
stick with low cost cars BMW 7 Series lives on wide open highways it will be not happy in tight roads
