still no reason to commit suicide , now she will be punished for that .. Suicide is Haram Period
I hope she understands what you are saying.
Blaming the dead, and totally ignoring the circumstances created by the society and rulers which forced a young talented and Intelligent person to take own life.

I am sure, its not an easy task to take your own life, but it was easy for the authorities to promise her and give her hope and then ignore her to...die..

Her funds were deviated for terrorism in Balochistan.
That is still insignificant compared to yours since most of pak's funds are diverted to fund terrorism in India's Kashmir making y'all beg for loans around the world

Trigger Warning: LSR Student Dies By Suicide Due To Financial Pressures As Per Note

Nowadays, it is not at all rare to see students stressed, anxious, or perplexed about their future. The ongoing pandemic has added to those concerns in every possible way. But it is indeed disheartening to see the students failing to cope with the pressure and ultimately ending their lives.

A similar incident was witnessed by one of the premier higher education institutes in Delhi, Lady Shri Ram College for Women. A second-year student of Mathematics honors committed suicide on the night of the 2nd of November at her house in Rangareddy district, Telangana.

The incident came into light when the message of her death was circulated by one of her close friends in an informal WhatsApp group of LSR college hostel.

A 2019 state topper, she was selected for the INSPIRE scholarship provided by the Ministry of Science and Technology for her outstanding performance in class 12th. But unfortunately, she could not lay hands on the fellowship grant, the first installment of which she was supposed to receive by March 2020.

Belonging to a working-class family, she was in dire need of the scholarship money. In fact, her family had confirmed that they had to mortgage their house to ensure their daughter’s further studies at Delhi University.

In a meeting with the SFI Ranga Reddy District Committee, her family even disclosed the fact their younger daughter had to discontinue her studies after her 7th grade as they could not afford to educate both their daughters.

The coronavirus pandemic did exacerbate the existing complications. In an online form circulated by the Committee for Inclusive Education under LSR SU, she had expressed her inability to attend all the classes and complete her assignments due to mobile and connectivity issues.

The suicide note recovered from her home was handed over to the President of SFI Ranga Reddy District Committee by her family members. This note was then circulated with SFI Delhi.

The suicide note seemed to have revealed financial pressures to be the prima facie motive behind her death. She admitted that her family had to incur cumbersome expenses due to her higher education and that she did not want to be a burden on her family.

But then she could not have lived without studying as well. Therefore she had no choice left than to welcome her own death.

Her family has not lodged any police complaint yet, as they do validate the concerns raised by their daughter. There is also no information on any possible postmortem.

In the meantime, the college had already held an obituary ceremony on the 3rd of November. However, no official statement regarding the alleged suicide has been released by the college administration.

It is immensely shattering to see the loss of such bright and young lives, particularly at times like this when the regressive divisions of caste, class, gender, and geography become more prominent than ever.

Very sad and heartbreaking story. Bright students have the true capability to uplift their family's standard of living. Condolences to the bereaved family.

We beg, but we don't commit suicide.

We beg, but we don't commit suicide.

Well, even begging should not exist. If it does it is the system's failure. All humans should have the basic human right of a dignified and contributing life. If someone is handicapped ( no limb ) or elderly they should be supported by the system to make up for loss of employment or an employment chosen to suit their situation.

If you look for problems, you will find problems.

And when a problem becomes apparent it should be corrected, how much ever effort it takes, how much ever redirection of resources it takes.

Our problems are related to a lower level of industrialization, massive population, lack of education, backward religious and cultural practices, easy satisfaction with a low standard of life, low effort towards research and innovation, etc.

Agreed.

Wealth inequality is not the cause of our problems.

But it is. I will remind you of Mukesh Ambani's hugely expensive 27-storey "house" Antilia for a family of four while on Kaun Banega Crorepati there are many contestants who have not seen 320,000 rupees in their life and live an artificially sub-standard life.

If you again read my thread I have linked in my reply to fitpOsitive above you will find my solution to this.

In fact, rich people generate employment where there would be none. India will be way poorer , with a worse standard of living, if not for our rich industrialists.

Please read what one Indian industrialist said about that Ambani house :
Public reception

Tata Group former chairman Ratan Tata said Antilia is an example of rich Indians' lack of empathy for the poor.Tata said, "The person who lives in there should be concerned about what he sees around him and asking can he make a difference. If he is not, then it's sad because this country needs people to allocate some of their enormous wealth to finding ways of mitigating the hardship that people have." "It makes me wonder why someone would do that. That's what revolutions are made of."
One may argue that those 600 employees in Antilia earn two lakhs per month and live there but why should that be limited to only them and we not speak of the countless other people in Bombay who earn artificial pittances with unnecessary difficulty and live in slums ?

Your ideas will create laid back people, who just exist and contribute little.

The communist slogan "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" does not mean one does not need to contribute. Contribution can be physical or mental as per condition or situation. Please read my reply to fitpOsitive above.

Basic social safety nets aren't a bad idea. But if you don't allow the best people to have a drastically better life, there would be no incentive to be the best way anything. Everyone will be mediocre.

India is not a socialist or communist society and has not been so for 73 years since independence. So why have the best people here not been able to make India a better, developed society ?

The socialist USSR had some things lacking but collectively they had marvelous things like a manned mission to Mars by the mid-1980s.

Well, I don't know about the number of suicides there what I know is that murder was considered a capitalist crime there, because in other societies most murders are socio-economic. Extrapolating this I don't think suicides in the USSR were that high as in the "free world".

It varied considerably in different territories and republics, sometimes as high as western Europe, sometimes considerably much lower and those with lower rates didn't fluctate much during the years compared to those with higher ones

@FlashGordon @prashantazazel, something that should be a minor everyday affair as getting education becomes a big thing in India. An unnecessary and very avoidable loss of life here. Education should be a free human right of every citizen to whatever point they want to pursue. What's the problem of the Indian government not funding such a simple thing as education when there are real bigger things like Elon Musk building up the system to transport people between Earth and Mars ? I don't understand this artificial system called scholarship money that is made available to only a few students when the entire education system can be made free and for all.

That's heartbreaking, all I'm thinking right now is what could've been done to help her and all so many stuff hovering around my mind, a mix of anger and sadness...she struggled a lot man...That's unfair...

she struggled a lot man...tsk that's unfair.

That is unfair indeed. Compare her struggle for a small amount of money to the dual wedding of the two sons of an Indian businessman Subrata Roy which cost 80+ million dollars. And this businessman had the cheek to do this drama :
Apart from all of that, Subrata Roy on this occasion served food to over 15,000 beggars and even got over a hundred underprivileged girls married.
Why couldn't he conduct the sons' weddings in a civil court and with the money saved, construct a township for those beggars and those underprivileged girls and perhaps get them employed in his big corporation ?
