To all those who get pleasure in Indian missile test failure.

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

No one is enjoying it. Its a news and we are discussing it. I stopped participating because i got enough harsh replies just for posting the news.

India's new Advanced Air Defence (AAD) interceptor missile, capable of destroying hostile missiles, on Monday encountered a coordination problem and failed to take off during a planned launch from the Integrated Test Range at Wheeler Island off Orissa coast.

"Coordinated exercise between target missile Prithvi from Chandipur and the indigenously built interceptor from Wheeler Island could not take place properly during the planned trial," defence sources said.

Though Prithvi - the target missile - was test-fired at 10.02 hrs from a mobile launcher from ITR's launch complex-3 at Chandipur-on-sea, 15 km from here, the interceptor missile failed to blast off, they said.

Though the exact reason behind interceptor missile's failure to take off was yet to be ascertained, preliminary analysis suggested that the target missile might have deviated from its stipulated trajectory, leading to lack of proper coordination, the sources said.

The trial, aimed at developing a multi-layer Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) system, was originally scheduled to be held yesterday from the two different sites of the ITR but had to be put off due to some technical snag in a sub-system at Wheeler Island, they said.

Wheeler's Island is located about 70 km across the sea from Chandipur and the AAD missile was to intercept the target at an altitude of 15 to 20 km over the sea.

Just one question. As pritvi blast off and the interceptor not. we know interceptor is on the ground but where is prithvi now???? Anybody know where will it land.

Range safety protocols should have the target missile remotely destroyed by installed explosive device. The ideal device should do enough structural damages to just break up the body, allowing investigators something to work with. Very seldom would the missile be totally destroyed like how news media often have it.

The target, a Prithvi missile, fired at 10:02 am from a mobile launcher from the Integrated Test Range Complex-3 at Chandipur-on-Sea, 15 km from here, deviated from its trajectory after travelling about 11 km and fell into the sea, defence sources said.

Albeit this particular Pirthvi fell into the sea and has become fish food, but generally ballistic missiles have a self destruct mechanism, whenever such a weapon deviates from intended trajectory, it either self annihilates or destroyed by a signal from the control room.

Oh Kewl man you were floating in the sea during the test trials. Beware dude there are some killer species reported around Orrisa coastline. chuckles....

Dude irrespective of the failures all missile tests whoever does it, be it India, pakistan, China or any other country does fit in self disintegration modules and the test parameter sensors record the stage wise happenings in blackbox which is tracked down after such tests. These are standard operating procedures and you seem to be a very good troller dragging here on the same news which is posted in this thread.

:rofl::rofl::rofl: Another FAILURE...:what:.........:rofl::rofl::rofl:

What??? :what:.... It has not been tested dude, its not the Interceptor missiles fault, it was the fault of modified prithvi, it deviated from its path, but if u call it a failure, u may...

What's eating you buddy, keep your shirt on as a member asked a question on the where abouts of Pirthvi, and i merely replied to him.
It's reported the missile fell into the sea, then again you probably missed that. Wonder who is trolling. :disagree:
