Not just in India but Muslims all over world have higher birth rates compare to people of other religion.

Even In the developed nations of Europe its the Muslims who have the highest birth rates.

If this continue the world be Islamic not due conversion but by sheer numbers of new born in the Muslim families.

im glad you mentioned madrassas, are you aware there has been significant push for reforms in madrassa education.
madrassas as a system needs to be regulated and audited just like private schools operating in the country.

this would be one major tool to improve education levels in the muslim masses.

So if govt. is looking for a reform, then who are these people opposing the govt. and wanting to "exert control" ..................and who are the people who think that such controls must be there according to their religious book??

The main problem is the "religion above all" attitude of the Muslims......You cannot just blame the govt. for this.

population control is the way forward. we do not have enough water, period. desalination can feed the thirst of a city like Singapore, but it can't even be scaled up to Hong Kong's level profitably much less for an entire country.

what really needs to happen is for desalination technology to be subsidized at the same time population is controlled. otherwise, no matter how much you conserve, when there's nothing left, you still die.
