India does not follow the French method. Here offensive literature against Islam (or any other religion) will usually face a ban. That would be consistent with a similar position on beef. The French would allow both.

why should successive indian governments have made india the biggest armaments/military-systems importer in the world ??

Republic of India in every aspect is different because its having a young population, natural resources, man power , technology, good irrigation system, space and Nuclear technology.

1. no other society forced india to have a 1.35 billion population out of which most of it is a young male population... millions of girl children have been killed before birth or after, just since the early 80's when ultra-sound machines were introduced into india by usa government... india has no one else to fault but itself, and it should try to radically change rather than keep quoting population figures... there should be a immediate ban on males being born in india for the next 20 years... why can't modi have said this in his "selfie with daughter" idea ??

2. the natural resources are being exploited for transitory capitalist needs rather than for real welfare of people... i described this in the section just above.

3. the "man power" is questionable, with no real skills, because of which modi could only forward "make in india" rather than "made in india".

4. this tags with the previous point... a people lacking in real analytical skills and fear of risk-taking have not allowed india to be a technology creator... can you name one indian operating system, microprocessor and crewed space capsule ( like spacex dragon v2 ) ??

5. compare the indian irrigation system to history's biggest irrigation system, the "great man-made river" project from the libyan jamahiriya... isn't it also a failure of the indian irrigation system and non-scientific farming methods that has mostly led to farming suicides, arsenic/fluoride-ridden ground-water poisoning and chaotic water delivery to cities ??

6. space... name how many indians went to space and how ??

7. nuclear power is obsolete and dangerous, as evidenced by the fukushima disaster just four years ago.

Republic of India can provide everything to its citizens.

So it is not about Islam then. So muslims have nothing to worry about. Government is just protecting the religious sentiments of Hindus. So what is the problem ?

If cows are not holy to non-hindus, which there are plenty in India, then why the heck are they being denied a source of cheap protein, as many news articles suggest?

The same reason why the majority are forced to hear those aajans 5-6times a day.

At least allow some sort of legal, licensed sales, like only in Muslim areas. What is next? You are going to make India a complete Vegan nation?

In a secular country you cannot have areas marked for a given religion.
And its not that we have sortage of other sources of healthy food, one can always opt from many other options available.
And most of the slaughter houses have themselves moved away from cow to buffalo.

Indians does not eat beef but largest exporter of Beef.
