Indian shelling damages several houses

Pakistan Rangers’ soldiers seen alert at Zero Line, Wagah Border as the security forces are on high alert on the border after shelling in Shakargarh Sector.— Online
SIALKOT: The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) resorted to heavy shelling on border villages in Shakargarh sector on Wednesday which damaged several houses.

According to a senior official of the Chenab Rangers, the BSF started unprovoked shelling at 5:30pm which continued for half an hour.

He said the BSF targeted the civilian population with mortar shells. The Chenab Rangers retaliated instantly.

No injury or loss of any life was reported.

There should be some sort of a system to prevent all this , maybe talks , anything will work.The worst part is when civilians are killed,thank god none were killed , no point in these small engagements.

Well violations are started from Pakistani side, cover fire is provided by the Ranger to help Militants infil into India, India obviously reacts. Pak needs to stop providing cover to militants.

Its the same strategy that was being used on the Afghan border which resulted in those 24 Pak soldiers being killed in US airstrike couple of years back. Pak Rangers are always active in providing cover fire to militants trying to infil into India and Afghan. This is a proven fact, ISAF in Afghan experienced this first hand. We on LOC face this on weekly/monthly basis.

Indian interview today, Manohar Parrikar has said that we take utmost care while responding to Pakistan Shelling so that civilians are not hurt.
