Did you even cared to read the OP before posting.... Or you don't know what characteristics carbon fiber has in regards to strength and weight?
US plans to produce a new TEP armour by 2019, giving the same protection but lighter weight.

Does your highness know what US is looking at? 25+ pounds of 11+ KG.

LMAO, foriegn jackets & rifles failing trails.

And yet first world NATO using them...

Indian propaganda and boasting knows no bounds... its embarrassing.

You think IA is idiotic enough to run around with no guns and jackets? Ain't no propaganda in procurement, boyo. India's testing procedures are trusted the world over.

1.5 kg is nonsense.

It's true. This jacket is going to change the way we fight completely.

Send your boys over with HMGs if you wanna kill our soldiers.

Leave all things aside. Just tell what the fug are the made from.
Even the Americans would be in line to. Buy 1.5kg bp jackey.

We are yet to find out what's in it. They have only said "state-of-the-art materials".

The weight will obviously go up if you add armour plates.

Carbon fiber??? Just google how good carbon fiber is in stopping military grade rounds.

Try comprehending "English" you dumb wit.

I'm sure, so trusted even NATO wears inferior stuff... they don't have "money", so those poor bastards from developed countries producing high tech gear use inferior stuff that fails indian trials..

It's true. This jacket is going to change the way we fight completely.

 I'm sure, since India has "invented" a light weight 1.5 kg jacket, the world would definitely be (should be) in awe.

Those dumb Americans (from whom you buy jackets) still trying to develop an 11.5 kg vest by 2019, should learn from Vedic sips powaaaa.
Send your boys over with HMGs if you wanna kill our soldiers.

You do know HMGs are carried on tri pods right? And soldiers carry LMGs or GPMGs..

In Paks case, MG-3,FN MAG,PKM,FN MINI etc. While indians carry vintage Brens.

 What a confused lil soul.

1.5 kg with plates or just kevlar? If just kevlar it wont enven stop a tokerov round....even a 3A level kevlar won't stop it.

Or maybe they invented a new material origins of which maybe from some hindu mythology.......... Able to stop 50 bmg rounds point blank☺️;-)
yes he did... carbon nano tubes.. that is how he manage to reduce the weight.

LMAO, foriegn jackets & rifles failing trails.

Don't wet yourself and read the article mentioning American jackets.

and yes. india export BJs and helmets to NATO countries. as a pakistani you may feel pain in your privet parts, but that is your problem.. keep it that way.

 NATO armies produce those things kid.

And buy the so called helmets (yourself), your own troops run around in mismatched camo, pakta helmets that don't even cover the upper portion of head and ww2 tin cans so save it for your Indian fanboys.

none of this has anything to do with a fake *** 1.5kg vest! Which is impossible, not even US has developed it and they are stuck it developing a 11.5 KG vest by 2019.

The butthurt is strong in you.

http://www.ndtv.com/india-news/world-class-body-armour-made-in-india-but-not-for-our-cops-1202871
Did you know that India is considered a world leader in body armor technology? Did you know that bullet proof jackets and helmets built to the highest specifications of personal protection are not just built in India but exported to more than 230 forces in over 100 countries?

Among the users - the British, German, Spanish and French Armies - and police forces stretching from Japan in the East to the US in the West.

So NATO already lines up to buy Indian BPJs.
Again, this butt hurt post has nothing to do with my post does it?

And being "tested" (as their website states) has nothing to do with "being in use".

All NATO countries produce world class armour, unlike indian army which is still struggling to even equip its troops with 20 kg carriers.

Let alone armour like interceptor, dragon skin or TEP.

why the hell are you so frustrated?? if he couldn't delver what he says then that is our problem. we didn't force anyone to buy that or we are not running for world record. army already ordered bulletproof jackets from TATA. what that professor is doing is developing something innovative with the help of DRDO, and i am sure he can make it. if you can't tolerate any development by india then its really your problem.. keep it within you.

We have BPJs that's as good as Interceptor and Dragon Skin, but those won't clear IA requirements. The current orders by the IA for BPJs that failed trials are at the same level as the Interceptor and Dragon Skin.

http://tamlindia.com/capabilities.html
TAML was the first company in INDIA to develop a light weight Bullet Proof Jacket in close co-ordination with Indian Army that could not only stop AK 47 and SLR bullets but also the DRAGUNOV sniper rifle bullet and secured the first order for light weight bullet proof jackets for the Indian Army.

This BPJ weighs as much as the Interceptor does, lesser actually. The new BPJ surpasses the older jackets while weighing considerably lesser.

Very good invention by an Indian...... Hats off to him.

But I seriously doubt the weight..... It must be a typo, instead of 15 of the reporter has typed 1.5 just my thoughts...

has it been tested? how does it fare with respect to the currently in use BPJs?
