`Wow! Too much heat is being generated here, guys! Let us try and find some common ground here.
Facts--
1. Conceptually, Ramjet is a very simple technology, I think all of us can agree over that.
2. Realizaton of the concept--- Here the views bifurcate.
a)
American view (espoused by dbc)--- "It's a very old technology which has been exploited by us for a long time in all permutations and combinations possible. You say that you have a functional Ramjet missile?...Big deal!"
Lets face it guys; from American pov this is factually correct. They have been working with this stuff since long time and so is the case with many advanced nations. There are tech challenges involved with Ramjet , but for these nations those challenges have been rendered obsolete a long time ago!
b)
Indian view (by kinetic et al)--- "For India creating missiles with Ramjet (both solid and liquid ) propulsion and operationalising them has been a great achievement on technological front."
This observation is also spot on from indian pov. For a country to achieve such capabilties with limited resources and time constraints is remarkable. We started from scratch and now are advancing towards the frontiers of missile tech;that is awesome, irrespective of what americans or anyone else thinks!
3. Conclusion-- I'd say let us wait for hypersonic Brahmos 2, AVATAR, HSDTV with scramjet (possibly) and no nation on earth will be able to pooh pooh our abilites. Until then; carry on the good work!
