You try very hard my friend but let me ask you, Pakistani soldiers and other freedom fighters intruded into the Indian side....where all the fighting took place.....what stopped you attacking positions on the Pakistan side.....and you should be thank full to both America and Israel for saving your neck.

The Pakistan Army had the brass nuts and more. The Indians are still whining about it because we cut off their nuts before the politicians in Pakistan ordered the Army to vacate some of the heights.

Plus, the fact that we still hold some of the heights is a constant reminder to the Indians of how we cut off their nuts in Kargil and still have them.

Even if it is 'lower' what difference does it make?
a) When we moved into Siachen, we didn't just saunter in there on a whim. We had a proper strategy, long term occputaion, trained men ocppuied the place, built structures and placed them there for decades because we decided that area has to be consolidated for India.
b) The chinese could have opened aritllery like India risked an open confrontation instead decided that it didn't make sense to commit troops, withdrew instead.

Your guys just sauntered in without a plan, no strategy, no ability to hold the heights, no ability to defend it under attacks and the poor soldiers left to Indian bombardment. And somehow this is 'smart'. I guess the value of a soldier and the extreme importance of commiting his life to viable missions are not clear to you.

1984 vs 1999 - geopolitical pressures on Pakistan were different and we had a political leadership unwilling to take a stand and one that was already distrustful of the military and in return not trusted by the military.

The question was never whether Pakistan could hold out militarily (it could) but whether the political leadership could withstand international pressure and build a case internationally drawing a correlation between Pakistan's actions in Kargil and India's actions in Siachen to retain most of the gains in Kargil. As it is, some of those gains were retained.

naa...that was definitely not the issue. Your military knew very well that if IA commited to a licking they can't stand it. Musharraf's own statements never said anything about winning against India militarily. It was....

a) occupy heights
b) India takes time to mobilize
c) In that time international community will intervene because they become scared
d) He knew there were no supply lines to support them but that was not needed because yindoo is baniya and won't fight
e) Kashmir will be free by august

India said screw you i will put artillery and fighter and bomb the hell out of any wlaking bi-ped on the mountains. International community instead of being scared of his nuclear threat said 'dudes they will screw you'.

so Indian territory is not sacrosanct anyone can take it. If you surrendered this much area without firing a shot what would happen when the better armed and equipped Chinese start firing.
Maybe that’s what happened. The Indians agreed to surrender and the Chinese moved back to their bases to come back again in force. You do know that by vacating all the peaks there is no active way to alert the Indians of an assault. Even the post at finger 4 was cleared by the Indians

So the Indian defense minister was lying to the Indian parliament when he said the disengage to is limited to pangong tso the rest of the areas have not been discussed yet. India agreed to no longer patrol any areas and return to their permanent base at finger 3. Since there are no troops on kalash range, the Chinese due to their superior mobility can drive up to the Indian base at finger 3 giving almost no warning to the Indians.
