My point was it has become necessary for Indian PM to resolve issues with Pakistan. Yes Atalji was very strong in whole Kargil episode. But then again he invited mushy the man behind Kargil for talks. So We couldn't say tht Atalji was spineless. MMS initiating peace process and that good.

Even after Parliament attack, Kandahar plane hijack NDA government didn't do anything concrete. Its just that the PM can see things which ordinary people couldn't.
It is not necessary for us to become friendly with Pakistan. It is not like we are set to gain much out of it.There is a great deal of anti-Indian sentiment in Pakistan. With that kind of sentiment I don't think our goods will find much market there.
The border violations are at an all time low,the insurgency problem is almost dead too, thanks to the fencing efforts.Pakistan is now entangled in its own web and busy with the home-grown problems.Let them deal with it as of now.We have nothing to gain here.
See,friendly relations with Pakistan means you have to compromise at some points, for the sake of some gain.I perceive that the compromise will far outweigh the gains.Hence,it is a decision we can put on hold.We can always take up the issue when the time is right.
