look mate, India will not compete with any of the countries in Olympics, it will be competing with itself, i can bet on 7-8 medals with at least 2 golds, this will certainly be not upto the mark that of Chinese or other major sporting power, but will certainly be a boost for a nation where people know only one sport, if you see India's graph as a sporting nation it is constantly on rise starting Beijing 2008, which was India's best olympic ever, after that we had our best commonwealth games ever as well as the best ever Asiad, This is the first time in India that before Olympics media & people are talking about it & cheering for team India, a certain change has come to Olympic sport in India, this will be a beginning & you will see in 15-20 years time that India will come at least in top 5 ranking in Olympics.

Good. Let's see in London Olympics. I will hope Chinese performance will prove beijing Olympics was fare :D it better be :D

Our young team is now even far stronger than the time of the Beijing Olympic Games, we will only smash our previous record, and nothing will fall short of in the London Olympic Games of this year.

China has nothing to worry about, and you should worry that could India gets lucky enough to retain that only fluke gold medal like it did back in 2008. :coffee:

Obsessed with India or scared of India?? What is your concern? Of course, China has nothing to worry about. Have a good night's sleep. Let the athletes speak of themselves on ground, not you and me.

Concerning about India's Olympic Games? Yep, just like how the Brazilian football team is concerning about the Chinese football team. :coffee:

Olympics 2012: Chance for Indian boxers to set the ring ablaze in London

Four years ago, they were the Olympic surprise package that fascinated the country but cut to 2012 London, Indian boxers are the ones to watch out for as they seek to better the one bronze medal feat that Vijender Singh scaled in Beijing.

An unprecedented eight boxers -- seven men and for the first time a woman -- are headed to the British capital faced with sky-high expectations of over a billion-strong nation that is gradually beginning to realise its sporting potential.

The bunch, a mix of sprightly teens and experienced warhorses, has come through tough qualification events and seem to be in peak form going into the biggest sporting show on earth.

Vijender would be there making a record third Olympic appearance and the middle-weight (75kg) former world number one, who is also India's first World Championships medallist, would play the dual role of a competitor and a mentor for the younger lot.

M C Mary Kom (51kg), the feisty five-time world champion, will be India's sole representaive when women's boxing makes its Olympic debut and given her mostly unchallenged domination in the ring over the past decade, she is among the strongest medal contenders.

The fact that she has to win just two bouts to be assured of a medal only adds to the high expectations from her.

And she is not short of motivation either as the 29-year-old mother-of-two could well bid adieu to the ring if she goes on to get a medal and cap a glittering career in which highs far exceed any lows that she might have endured.
